Sara’s Dog Training has had the absolute pleasure of meeting and working with so many doggies and their dedicated owners. I’m so grateful for the continued support, but I have left SXM to travel and I don’t know when I’ll be back. Week 2 of 5 was a great class! The doggies were happy and feeling a bit goofy, as you can see in the photos. They learned the foundations of Stay and how to walk nicely on the leash.

This pretty girl Destiny is continuing her work on separation anxiety. Luckily she has settled into her new home and routine and now needs to be comfortable with being left alone. This requires exposing her gradually to the scary feeling of being alone without giving her anxiety. Stay tuned for an update!

What an adorable group! These pups accomplished their first class of their 5-week group obedience course. The humans learned the foundations of clicker training while the pups enjoyed all the snacks they received 😂

Max is a chunky boi who’s in foster care but looking for his forever home! Hot summer days ☀️ The Caribbean heat is strong but residential dogs Lucy and Peanut don’t mind as they explore the green trails. All of this recent rain has been lovely for the nature!

Libby and Sunny are advancing well in their training! During this session we kept them focused and calm at the bar. They did get distracted by another dog but were able to settle down. Great work!

Gidget shows off her bright tongue after practicing Fetch! Some dogs need to be taught the game if it doesn’t come naturally, which is very possible when the steps are broken down into the basic moves of Take It, Recall, and Drop It 😊

Sara's Dog Training is bringing the fun and educational course back for dogs of any age to participate in. From September 25 - October 23, the group will progress together every Sunday at 4:30pm and end with an exam and certification!

A bit of a late post, but here we can see the Fellas focus on their owners around another dog! This is a big step up from their usual barking. Great work!

Closer and closer we get! Lizzy (brown dog) is highly reactive and doesn’t enjoy other dogs in her space. We have been able to close this gap over the last few weeks. Chef (white and brown) had his first physical meeting with Lucy which was exciting! Be patient and understanding of your reactive/nervous dogs ❤️❤️❤️ #reactivedog #dogtraining #sxm

Lilee began training with me because she is very scared of new environments and people. This video was taken on our second session and she was able to focus on her owner during an uncomfortable encounter and even take a bite of her treat, which she had been too nervous to do before. The Gang has been learning how to walk nicely as a pack. An organized walk consists of two parts: the traveling and the relaxing/sniffing. In this video we are traveling and practicing a Stop command.
