UPDATE: work phone number should be receiving texts and iMessages but still gives a message saying it’s “disconnected” if you try to call. Optus has no idea and I am waiting on someone from an advanced tech team to contact me to resolve the issue. I was wondering why this week was strangely quiet!

WE ARE MOVING TO CHARLESTOWN!

Some of you may be aware that I have been preparing to move to a freshly built premises in Charlestown.
This will likely be happening in November sometime. We are unable to give specific dates currently due to the nature of construction but your appointment reminder texts will be amended to include the new address as soon as the move occurs at which point you can change or cancel if Charlestown is not a convenient location for you.
I will endeavour to keep everyone updated and informed as this process is taking place.
The set up will be much the same but brand spanking new! 🤩

It is starting to warm up!
This means we are moving into the busy end of the year period and are starting to book out weeks ahead once again.
To avoid disappointment please try to get your appointments booked up to (and beyond, if you like) Christmas so you are all set for the year and it’s one less thing to worry about.

I’ve just had a man turn up half an hour late with his dog and express how put out by the $10 late fee that’s clearly written on our late and no-show policies on not one, not two, but THREE signs on the way in to the salon, along with two enormous signs begging people to READ THE SIGNS so they don’t cost themselves more money and I don’t have to charge more. It’s culminated in him being so affronted by the fact I have staff costs and huge overheads to remain in a location that is convenient to everyone that he has left.
This has happened numerous times and to put it simply, we are EXHAUSTED.
Please read the policies, respect the policies or don’t book with us.
We currently don’t have cancellation fees, our prices are comparatively low, we have a $25 no show fee and a $10 late fee if you’re over 20 mins late (if we can still fit you in) and there’s no universe where this isn’t entirely reasonable.
We aren’t getting rich, we are surviving, in order to provide you a service.
Thanks for understanding and good riddance to those who don’t. 💖🐶

PSA post 2/2

Finally, many of you will have noticed the significant increases to the pricing scheme for small/medium(or “smeds” as I like to call them 😂), large and extra large dogs.
I have always strongly believed that pet care should be affordable for everyone, but unfortunately in the current economy and what’s seems like endlessly increasing rent costs, running costs and staff costs I simply cannot continue the business unless I start charging a price more akin to what my fellow groomers are charging.
I realise this would be less of a shock if I had followed CPI rises over the last several years but again, price increases have been something I’ve wanted to avoid for as long as I could reasonably do so but it’s just not possible anymore.
We cannot text every person this will affect individually so I urge you to PLEASE READ the big signs at eye-level when you walk in through the gates to see a list of the prices. They are next to the other big signs explaining late fees and no-show fees. These signs are your responsibility to read and ask for clarification on if need be!

I know this is a hard economical time for just about everybody right now, so I completely understand if people need to attempt to find somewhere cheaper, find ways to book in less often such as getting shorter cuts so less visits are required or even trying your hand at a home haircut.
Your patronage to my business is greatly appreciated but I understand it’s a privilege and not an obligation and we all need to look after ourselves and our families first and foremost.

Now that all the nitty gritty stuff has been covered, may I say how wonderful and understanding folks have been about the necessary changes made this year. It’s been an honour to receive your loyalty and I’m blessed to have been able to know so many of your dogs for several years and many their entire lives. My doggy friendships are some of the biggest joys my life has been privileged with and a big thank you to all the owners who have made them possible and entrusted us with the care of your fur babies 💖

Hello all!
-A couple of things to cover but first and foremost we are stepping into the busy end of year time and at the time of this post we are currently booked out until late October. The wait times will unfortunately continue to snowball until early in the new year so please secure your pre-Christmas appointments now to avoid disappointment! You can do this by sending us a message on Facebook or via text with preferred dates and times and we’ll be able to book you in from there.

An important note for NEW customers: we will be closing our books to new customers from the 1st of November until the 1st of January so if you’ve been considering booking with us, please do so now to avoid disappointment around Christmas. This is to reduce the amount of no-shows during this period caused by people calling numerous groomers and booking in multiple appointments and simply attending the earliest available one without cancelling or notifying the other grooming businesses they no longer need the appointment. I would hate for regular clients to miss out on getting an appointment for a reason such as the above.

Our books are open again! We welcome new customers to come and give us a try 😊

It is important to understand that we are a cage-free salon so there is a social element to our set up. Your dog doesn’t necessarily have to like other dogs and is entitled to express a need for personal space verbally, however physical aggression or aggressive tendencies cannot be tolerated in this type of setting.
It’s important to us that all the dogs feel comfortable and safe in our space and we want to create positive experiences for puppies learning to socialise in an appropriate way.

Hi all, after a very messy Christmas period with lots of people showing up for their appointments extremely late, if they showed up at all, I need to make a long overdue post with reminders of existing policies that are frequently being ignored, as well as some new ones.
There are 3 signs at eye level as you enter the premises that state that if you are over half an hour late (from the mutually agreed upon time) picking up your dog after their groom there is a $10 surcharge added to the groom total. This policy stands and will be enforced whether you choose to read the signs or not.
In addition, we also have two new policies that are already being enforced.
If you are 20 minutes or more late arriving TO your appointment, we reserve the right to refuse you entry depending on the flow of the day and if we are still able to commence the groom, an automatic $10 late fee will be added to your groom total.
And lastly, if you do not show up at all to your appointment and fail to communicate that you won’t be attending prior to your appointment, there will be an automatic $25 no-show fee added to your next appointment should you choose to reschedule. If you fail to show up for that appointment, you will be unwelcome to book again.
We really do appreciate and are grateful for everyone who can empathise with the costs and what’s involved in providing a service to the furbabies in this city and we thank you for understanding why these policies need to be enacted and enforced.
For those that don’t understand, you’ll need to take it up with our bouncer Miss Marple (see below) as she’s in no mood for shenanigans! 😝
