🌟 Just before heading to Sydney last week for The Vet Expo, I had the joy of sending off a Walkin' Pets wheelchair for Luna the Dachshund.
Yesterday, I received the most heart-warming update – a video of Luna zooming around in her new wheels, with the message:
"Thank you... we have a new girl 💜"
She’s a speedy wonder now, living life to the fullest! Moments like these are what it’s all about 💕🐾

Had a visit from Bentley today - goodness he gave me a fright, running down my stepped hallway once we had his wheels set up!
Such a lovely boy - it was a pleasure to help him

Dundies
Say hello to Snags - such a beautiful boy!
He has Hydrotherapy Sessions at Noahs Crossing- Vet to help with his arthritis, but he also struggles with ear infections and we needed to stop his ears from getting water in them.
We ordered in a DogLeggs Swim Snood for him and he is so much more comfortable with his swim sessions now🐾😍
Recently we fitted Harry to his wheels - being a dachshund, (Barrel chested and short legged) the supplied harness does not work as well so we went with the Vest.
The Walkin Pets Vest was especially created for dogs with similar shapes to Dachshunds, Frenchies, ShihTzu's and other small breeds
Be still my heart - this handsome man got his wheels last week.
Supermodel stuff happening right here
Last week I had the absolute pleasure to meet Jelly Bean and her family
This little lady was rescued by the RSPCA SA along with her brother. They were both in a bad way with severe deformaties. Jelly Bean’s front legs are bent and fused so she is unable to use them. Her hind legs need support to help her move.
Jelly Bean has recently been the star of a RSPCA SA campaign.
She is such a delightful little one, I can understand why her new human fell in love with her so easily.
She has a long road ahead of her, but I am positive she will win!
Last week I visited 17 year old Porscha - her family were keen to help her as best they can at this stage of her life.
Her Vet agreed she still has a zest for life, she just needs a little helping hand in the form of the Walkin' Pets wheelchair
Her bestie friend so wanted to be there when she was fitted but he had to be at school but he was so happy to see her when he got home
A lovely Lady named Ginger is the latest recipient of a Walkin' Pets Wheelchair - this was a collaboration between HandicappedPets Australia and Noahs Crossing- Vet
Last week MOTH (Man Of The House) and I did a quick trip out Port Elliot way to fit Charlie in some wheels
Charlie has had a ruff (sic) time over the last 12 months with multiple surgeries on his hind legs. He has not been able to walk without the help of his family for many months and as you can see he is a big dog
Now his family are so happy to see him walking again and helping him in the rehabilitation process with his Walkin’ Pets wheelchair.
This is Sorcha, an Irish Water Spaniel.
She is such a sweetheart. I fitted her into a wheelchair several weeks ago, loaning her my spare rental wheels until her pink set arrived as my usual turnaround time had lengthened due to company restructuring in the USA
Sorcha has a very dedicated owner who understands the value of the wheelchair for her condition, as well as hydrotherapy.
It is important to get dogs into a wheelchair sooner rather than later when a presumptive diagnosis of Degenerative Myelopathy is made
we offer a wide variety of assistive devices - if you cannot find it on our website - contact me with your requirements and I am sure I can find something for you
This is Storm, who had cruciate injury in both legs. She is not a suitable candidate for more surgery so she is using the Walkabout Double Knee Support Brace
I will always recommend a double knee brace as even if only one knee is injured, the other knee is vulnerable
The very best thing with what I do is how I can have a client and their beloved pet come in, both feeling down about prospects and both leave with a spring in their steps
Siegfried and his owner came to see me today - his owner fought back tears on a number of occasions as she described the trauma they both had been through.
Siegfried had back surgery and unfortunately during recovery he chewed his own paw off due to distress and pain. He had further back surgery to address some of his pain and also to amputate and create a stump where he had mutilated his paw.
His recovery has been slow due to his limitations. His owner was determined to give him the best chance and today he was fitted in a wheelchair.
I so love how an animal’s whole demeanour changes when they recognise they are independent again…… I also love the owner’s reaction when they see the joy return to their pets faces
