Hi Friends and Fur Friends: Long post ahead but please read.

We would like to thank everyone for their patience and ask it continues during what is a very hard time for APAF.

Please remember that running a rescue is very hard and it takes its toll on the owners of each rescue in different ways. You may never know what someone is going through and here at APAF we would like to share something with you.

One of our Directors and Co-Founders has been diagnosed with a serious illness and will be undergoing a very risky surgery this coming Monday. We are all being impacted by this in ways you cannot imagine.

Please remember, we as rescuers cannot pour from an empty jug, we must refill our jugs before we care for animals. Some of us have learned that the hard way.

So we will get back to you one by one.

All animals are either in foster or have recently been adopted and are thriving. If there is a specific animal you would like to know about please send us a message with the name of them and we will respond as soon as possible.

Furthermore, we understand how many voicemails we have to get back to. This has been a very trying time for us and the animals and as I said, we will respond as soon as we can.

We will continue as a referral organisation for the next few months and will be outsourcing our traps if you need help with catching stray cats.

Thank you all for your understanding and we will update you with any further details.

Due to the loss of David, an inundation of kittens and just a general need for a break, APAF will be closed this week, Tuesday 15/12 - Friday 18/12, and will reopen on Saturday the 19th. Thank you for your understanding during this tough time

It is with the heaviest of hearts we must announce the passing of our little David. Someone so little somehow filled our hearts with so much love. Life will never be the same, even after such a small amount of time. Please be patient with us while we grieve for our little fella, we have a David size hole in our hearts. Rip David Wayne David Delessio, we will always love you.

As an Adelaide based rescue, we would firstly like to wish all well during this covid scare. Secondly, please remember your local rescues when deciding to hoard things such as litter, dog and cat food, disinfectant and paper towels. These are necessities for rescues, not options. Please stay safe and only take what you need. Kind regards from all at APAF

And!! ...He’s actually already been living with his new fur-mily for about a month! Jasper’s family contacted us looking for a new furry family member and opted to foster-to-adopt. Meaning, he could start settling in to his new home sooner, while all of his vet work was being completed to be officially available for adoption ❤️

Linda has been with her family for 3 months now and couldn’t be happier!
We have been keeping in contact to ensure that she has settled in well and she certainly has by all reports.

Asking Paw A Friend is asking paw some donations. In these past few months we have been inundated with complicated surgeries, from emergency c-sections, entropia eye surgeries, inverted testicles that were turning cancerous in two different dogs, to just general vet checks, vaccinations, microchipping and desexing. We love what we do and wouldn't change it for the world however it is extremely costly to keep these little lives thriving and any donation would help us immensely. Thank you so much animal lovers.

We notice a lot of posts on community pages about stray cats and kittens in public places. PLEASE get in contact with us. We have traps available both for hire and for us to do the trapping. We need to get these animals off the streets and it starts with YOU getting in contact with US so we know whats going on, where it's going on and how we can assist in any way possible.
We are beyond dedicated to the cause of eradicating the stray cat population through vet work, foster and adoption but we don't have eyes everywhere and we need your help

Food, vet work, litter etc is covered and the only expenses from you would be time, love and patience - and a couple of trips to the vet. Full coaching is provided - along with any training needed and you have support people a phone call away.

We are beyond happy to announce this little guy has come in and out of foster care and to his forever home in record time. Ronnie, you are so loved by your new family, your new mum cried when meeting you.
We are so proud to be able to to help animals across Adelaide and find them their forever homes.
