Sorry for the late notice, we were a bit busy today, but all walks tomorrow are cancelled. You will be credited, refunded accordingly. Sorry for the inconvenience if your doggos are needing there much loved walks/hikes but we really could do with a day off to catch up on yard work, chores & just catch a breath.

We hope you all had a fantastic Easter and we shall see you all from Tuesday onwards!!

🔥It is so heckn hot!!🔥

With temperatures set to reach 40⁰ this weekend, it is important to remember that walking your dog when it is this hot can be dangerous.

Animals can suffer heat stroke just like us and it doesn’t take long for it to occur.
Please make sure your animals have access to shaded areas and plenty of fresh water.

Instead of a walk, try a different sort of enrichment. Enrichment toys can be used instead of bowls at feeding time. Lickimats are a great option. Sniffy games are great for dogs, they love to seek out small treats hidden around the house or in a snuffle mat.

You can also do short training sessions inside. Mental stimulation is just as important as physical, especially for those high energy breeds.

Hi Friends 👋

It's going to be a 🔥 🔥 🥵 41° tomorrow !! We hope you all stay cool and hydrated. Please don't forget your pets need to be kept cool too. If you can, please let them inside as that is ideal. If you can't let them inside, please make sure they have access to fresh water and maybe even a shallow pool in the shade to lay in. If you have to walk your pooch, be sure to do it super early or later in the evening. This may seem like common sense to most but still some pet owners don't get it.

We LOVE all the pooches we walk, like they are our own!! There are many & they are all so so different, each with particular needs & special quirks. However, sometimes you meet a dog that is just on another level, like they have been here before. Or they have come from unfavourable circumstances & have issues from trauma. Or...they are just so dang 🥴 puppy brained & cute that you can't wait to spend time with them again to see if they retained training from their last session.

Zues is definitely on my special list. He's been through some 💩 but his hoomans are working hard to help him have a good life.

At his Meet & Greet he was totally off me, would not let me pat him & wasn't having a bar of me. I ended up leaving early, totally defeated, as to not upset him further.

But with time, we had a few breakthrough moments. He happily accepts my pats & ❤️ now & jumps in the 🚗 faster than you can say K9 TRIPZ. I have watched what he likes/dislikes, seen him finally trust me & enjoy himself. It is so wholesome & fills our hearts with joy.

I didn't know initially but Zues LOVES the water, he used to live near a dam but he & his hoomans moved. So seeing him jump in the creek on a recent trip & splash around made me so happy. Now I know he likes to swim...I can mix up his tripz & take him to a local dam sometimes as a special treat. 😀

Just like us hoomans, dogs/pets have feelings and needs, and they have to be taken care of properly. Depending on the pet you chose, they may need regular walking, appropriate foods, health care, adequate training, a clean & cosy place to sleep and lots & lots of love & affection! It is a serious commitment. Not to be taken lightly.

Please make sure you are committed to your new pets' ENTIRE life with you. Shelters are full of cats and dogs waiting for a new home. Some of them won't make it and will sadly be euthanized 😢.

If you are looking to take on a pet, please consider visiting or to rescue a pet instead of buying from a pet shop or breeder. You never know. You might just find your perfect match and save your new best friend at the same time. 🐾💕

The saddest part of being a dog owner is knowing their time with us is shorter than we wish. 😢

So while they are here with us, we have to enjoy each and every moment. 😃

We all have busy lives, and sometimes it is hard to fit everything in. But for your dog, they only have a short time to fit in all the happy and special memories you can create with them.

• So take them for that walk even when you don't really have the time or feel like it...if you can.
• Let them be on the couch or bed with you.
• Don't be worried about all that dog hair.
• Take more pictures of or selfies with your dog.
• Let them have that extra treat or two if their health permits it.
• Don't stress the small things, that shoe your dog chewed is replaceable.

😂 Sure, our rescue dogs have made our lives a nightmare at times, each having their own behavioural issues and health problems.😫

💕 But the countless times they have brought us happiness or changed a negative moment to a positive one for us has well and truly made up for it!! 💕

Lovely walk this afternoon with Bailey. He is very good off lead. Until today, he has had a 100% success rate with his recall.

But just like us hoomans, no dog is perfect & we all make mistakes. So when he ran off towards another dog, we could only relax, keep calm and see it from his point of view. He obviously needed to run over to meet that gorgeous Poodle so badly that our safety words were overridden.

Albeit the first time he has EVER done this, it is still a reminder to expect the unexpected.

🤣This Poodle though, it was extremely enticing. We couldn't blame Bailey, with its perfectly groomed head crest, pompom shaped feet & fancy swagger.🤣

🌺LEST WE FORGET🌺

And…lets not forget all the animals used during war also. So many brave animals through no choice of their own gave their lives and served along side our ANZACS.

Dogs, Donkeys, Brumby, Pigeons, Cats & even Pigs were used.

Dogs especially played an important role when entering areas with land mines, navigation and just company for Soldiers.

Dogs at times had packs strapped to them carrying up to 5x their own weight for Soldiers, dogs lay with and kept Soldiers warm and they also alerted Soldiers to an impending attack.

Yes our Diggers were amazing, they gave their lives for us, and the Dogs & animals that served gave their lives for their Diggers 🐶❤️

These two would walk fur-ever if they could 😅

Sometimes we have to remember we have other jobs that we need to get to, but it is hard to stick to a schedule when you can see that a dog wants or needs more or is just enjoying itself so much.

⏰So please...if we are ever running late to your service, it is for that reason only. It wasn't because we slept in, overbooked or weren't organised today. We just spent a bit more time with the last customer & we would also do the same for your Pooch if we can see the need⏰

Lovely Sunday stroll this morning at Jenkins Reserve Dog Park, found some great safe sticks for our fetch games and beach trips & some awesome firewood for an afternoon BBQ 😃

This guy, The love of my Wife's Life! (What husband?😅)

5am 2.5 years ago I get up to do my morning p*e (tmi I know sorry), I check my 📱as always and there is post about a 7week old Kelpie x BC that needs to find a home before he gets a bullet😱, this post has no picture of this pup, we are going in blind and on a whim

So we contact them, jump in the car and head to Naracoorte. Wonderful long drive, we had never been out that way. We finally arrive and meet the cutest most perfect pup we had ever seen. Absolutely gob smacked that they needed to be rid of this Pup so badly that in a few more days he was destined to die 🤔

Now look at him 🤩 He is the most well behaved, intelligent and intuitive dog I have come across to date. He turned our lives upside down and inside out because at the time we were in no position to take on our 4th dog let alone a Working breed.

Now we thank god everyday I needed to p*e that morning, we thank god for sending him to us and we thank god the previous owners didn't see his true potential because if they had, we wouldn't have him with us now! 💕🙏🏼
