Sorry I have been a little quiet recently!
Few things have kept me busy, I have had a few new clients come on board for behavioural training as well as keeping busy with my pup Dusty, making collars and leads and doctor/hospital appointments!
Few small announcements,
First up Rosie found her perfect forever home, I am so very happy for the little girl!
Second I will be adding 2 new collar options to my list once I have perfected them, one is featured in the video below, I will also be offering stamped names for this collar. The second is still in the very early stages but will be my version of a Halti.
Thirdly,
This is a bit of a sad one but for the foreseeable future I will not be taking on any more walking clients. My health is a little up and down atm and it’s hard fitting everyone in. Current walking clients don’t stress I will still be able to accommodate you! Especially those of you that have friendly dogs that Dust gets along with 🙂
Hope everyone is well and I look forward to continuing helping pooches and their owners! 🩷🩷
Yesterday little Frankie had an incredible breakthrough. This little man has some quite intense anxiety and the sight of another dog even as far as 100 meters away or more sent him into a frenzy!
Less than half hour into our session with Dusty and this was the progress. I’m very proud of both these little pups and can’t wait to see how Frankie continues to grow in confidence! 🥰🥰🐾
Crate training doesn’t have to be stressful for your pup! Anyone who knows Dusty will tell you he absolutely will not do anything he doesn’t want too 😅 look how happily he jumps in his crate when I ask him!
If you need help crate training please get in touch, we would love to help 🥰🐾
Please excuse my intermittent babbling 😅
Thought I would make a quick video regarding some cheap enrichment ideas 🥰🐾
This is Rocky, he is a super good boy but has been very anxious out on walks and it has resulted in some serious pulling. Rocky is a big boy and his owners have been struggling a little with this.
In Rocky’s case I have spent a couple sessions getting him to connect with me and work through his leash and harness anxiety. Today we ventured outside to see if we could get him to enjoy his walk.
The difference in his body and mind today was so refreshing. He was really enjoying it and his anxiety was well and truly controlled. We even managed some focused heel walking (will load that video in the comments)
He isn’t ‘fixed’ yet and it will take quite a few more sessions to see some real consistency but this was a huge step in the right direction for this beautiful big boy! 🥰🐾
Impulse control is something a lot of dogs can struggle with, Dusty has been learning impulse control on some items that are super high value and is doing amazing. You can see some self awareness here as he REALLY wants to engage with his toy but corrects him self a couple of times! 💗
What a good morning with these two!! Working on calm neutral walks with other dogs. The progress in just 2 sessions has been incredible!
Thank you to my ever patient pup Dusty for somehow knowing what our client dogs need! 💗🐾
Thought I would finally introduce myself :)
Quite a productive day making some really lovely gentle progress with 2 dogs!
Rocky, who I really need to get a picture of is a beautiful but very anxious AmStaff who has leash reactivity. Today’s session was just working on getting him comfortable with the leash going on and off and building a bit of a connection with him. He’s a truely lovely boy and I’m looking forward to working with him.
Max is a beautiful lab x who is currently making some healthy changes to his life, Max is SUPER hyper around his family and due to his size and naturally boisterous nature they have not been able to do as much with him as they would like. He also had a tendency to pull like a freight train on leash. Last week we had our first walk where we worked on correcting the pulling and today I was blown away by his ability to do most of our walk on a loose leash with me only needing to correct him on 3 occasions. He will be fit and healthy in no time 🥰🐾
Video of Max during our walk today
I consider my self to be a very honest person and I want to be as transparent as possible, we are currently pup sitting a friends little staffy x who hasn’t had lots of training/obedience yet. Usually I would recommend training away from other dogs, especially puppies but I have put a lot of work into Dusty and thought I would challenge his impulse control. He did amazing, Sasshi did very well too, she is only new to this and the distraction of another pup makes it harder. You can see in this video that a few times she didn’t quite get it right….. that’s just training though. It isn’t going to be perfect in the beginning. It’s going to look a bit messy, they are going to make mistakes, get bored, get distracted and loose concentration. Not even us professionals can make it look perfect from the very start and if someone tells you they can,…. They are lying.
So enjoy this quick training video of two of the most adorable goodest pups! 🥰🐾
Apart from a healthy and happy puppy all I want is a neutral puppy! Bunnings this morning was packed and little Dusty ACED his down and focus!
Unfortunately there were too many under-agelings around so didn’t want to film them so you can only see Dust but sound up and you should be able to hear how busy it was! 🐾🐶
