Here at SJ Ferrets I have rescued, rehabilitated and rehomed over 700 ferrets in the past 13+ years. I offer Ferret Boarding to South Australians every single day of the year at $13 per ferret per day.

2020 was my 10th year of breeding. I bred for quality NOT quantity! Every litter I breed is bred to create an impeccable breed standard, improve health and temperament

whilst ensuring I remove genetic defaults. Breeding is not for fun or for the "cuteness of babies", breeding is to better the species as a whole and it costs us thousands! Please note I seldom open my Waiting List as it stays mostly full with such high demand all over the country. If my Waiting List becomes open it will be announced on my page.

And just like that my heart is broken into a million pieces 😭😭😭😭💔💔💔💔

Minnie suffered a heart attack earlier today, Jake called me to come home and be with her 😭 I'm so grateful I have an understanding workplace. I went home to cuddle and hold her and then I had to send her to the 🌈 Rainbow Bridge! Minnie literally died of a broken heart 😭 She was the last one of my ferrets left, after nearly 17 years I am completely ferret-less and I feel like I can't breathe 😭

I really thought I would get longer with Minnie before it was her time but she couldn't even live 4 days without Delta 😭💔

My beautiful girl, you were the absolute epitome of a mother, you were MAGNIFICENT, no other ferret came close, you adored your darlings more than I adored you and I was SO blessed to have bred you, owned you, loved you, trained you and been your Mumma 🥹 Thank you for 7.5 years of sneaky nibbles, endless love, protection, care, war dancing like a fool, grandbabies and more ❤️ You have dozens and dozens of ferrets waiting to greet you and I know you will tell them all what a beautiful life you lived!

My heart aches and I feel like I can't breathe, I don't really know what I am meant to do now, I've owned ferrets for nearly 17 years and it's second nature to me 😭 I feel relieved of the responsibility, absolutely heartbroken it's over, like I'm mourning all of my beautiful ferrets all at once and like I'm so SO proud of what I have created and done for the ferret community and world 🌎 I hope my legacy lives on, my funny viral videos live on and people all around the world have learnt something about this gorgeous, unique pet ❤️ Thank you to everyone who has supported me on my journey!

From the moment I rescued you 7 years ago to the moment you took your last breath in my arms at the Vets, I have loved you with my whole heart 💔 My sweet sweet Mellow boy, the ferret who would cuddle anyone, smooch anyone, you changed so many people's minds about ferrets, you showed them what I have been so lucky to have and love and gosh did Amelia and Emma love you SO MUCH 😭 I will miss them walking around the house cuddling you, you would flop around like a ragdoll without a care in the world because your little sisters had you 😭

I've been so blessed to have you from such a young age and couldn't be prouder of the mother that you were to your gorgeous litters!
You've had some health issues lately and needed some teeth pulled and abscesses sorted but even with 3 surgeries at 8, you pulled through and recovered beautifully 💪🏼
You're a gorgeous old lady and I adore our cuddles, you let Amelia walk around with you and are never bothered by the girls 🥰 Here's to years ahead my darling girl ❤️

16 years ago on 13th November (2008) just after I turned 18 I got my first ferret. I spent nearly a year researching and getting myself prepared and finally got this little turd 😅

She was stubborn, cuddly, snobby, loving, bitchy, loyal and I got 7.5 years with you, I would have gotten so much longer if I didn't lose you to the terrible after effects of lead poisoning. Forever grateful for everything you started and created for me, my life and hundreds of ferrets around the country 🥰
