Let's go South Australia 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Let's crack down on all the dodgy pet food companies selling their food as "scientifically proven", "preservative free", "free range", "organic" and all the other bu****it lies they feed us KNOWING there is NO REGULATIONS in the pet food industry!!!
If you haven't been around for 8+ years, here's a little run down of my story! In Feb 2016, over the course of 8 days, 12 of my ferrets died horrific deaths from heavy metal toxicity from their food. At the time, I was sponsored by a pet food company and only fed their food. They denied everything and told me never to show my face again in their store, the way I was treated was utterly disgraceful. They then went on to publicly shame me on their page, comment on posts on this page and more, it was a horrible time for my ferrets, for me, and for the ferrety community. Truly, just horrible. Let's not forget the fact that I had all the evidence to prove it was their food. A handful of my ferrets who did survive after being urgently treated for lead poisoning, had neurological disorders which eventually took their lives months later. My whole entire breeding program, everything that I worked hard for, for nearly a decade at that stage, was gone and I was left basically empty handed with a HUGE Vet bill and no one to take responsibility for the destruction. 12 ferrets dead, more dying my whole breeding program gone and the company responsible wiping their hands clean of me.
I spent YEARS calling, emailing, chasing, fighting and trying to find someone, some governing body, something, anything to get justice for my babies, for myself. I kept coming up short unless I had 5k to walk into a law firm just to sit down and present my case. It was truly devastating that this company got away with killing my beautiful pets scott-free. They sold the business years later and lied to the new owners, when the new owners found out about all the preservatives they were using, they made it known to the public about what had been happening. They ended up having to close the business down because of everything that had happened. It has truly been such a horrible journey for not only my ferrets and I, but dozens of other pet owners who have experienced the same or similar and business owners going out of business because of pure greed and nastiness.
Help us stop this!!! We need to regulate the pet food industry!!! Stop this happening to you or anyone you know 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
