βοΈ We have had a few questions lately about what/how we clean our coops.π
π€ Our shop chicken coop we use mulch in the main run and as the base in our foxproof night run. Wood shavings under the roost area, easy to clean and compost. We use StalosanF as a safe disinfectant option, our equine customers first used this product in their stables but for coops we have the 3kg bags available which will last a long time. (50g per sq/m)
πFor nesting/bedding we mix between h**p and wood shavings, the h**p last longer in our experience and easy to clean any mess out and fluff back up.
We have a low dust bath with DE and a sprinkle of pestene powder, the girls love this π₯°
πππ Our Hyline Coop can be hectic up to 200 pulllets at a time so we clean between each batch, remove the first 50 to 100mm layer and replace with mulch or Proteq bedding pellets ( you fill the bag with water and they fluff up to 3x the size, a great product) this helps give a fluffy base. Making it easy to clean after.
The coop gets good coating of Stalosan F to disinfect and kill any nasties, It also helps with odour control. Best of all being made from natural active ingredients its safe to be used regularly with chickens still in the coop.
