Please note that as you arrive and find your table, wait till your table guests have all arrived and then one person check with me to see if it is all clear for your table members to order their meal. We do not want to flood the bistro with 55 people trying to order at once.

I just want to say a huge thank you to all our Instructors, admin staff, and volunteers in the BBQ as well as helpers in the setting up and putting away of our equipment, for making this last training/ fun day such a success. I feel sure all our members who attended with their dogs had a really fantastic time with all we had to offer them. The atmosphere was awesome, the food was delicious and the whole morning went off extremely well. Even the weather was perfect. We have an awesome team and a wonderful club and the words thank you never seem enough. But thank you all so very very much. Have a very well earned rest and a safe & happy Christmas. Please note all Thursday evening handlers :
Tonight (7/11/24), Kaye is going to be there for Show training but only if weather is permitting. There will be no other rings for training obedience or rally opening tonight. There will NOT be any training on Thursday evenings for the rest of this year. We will start again in February, dates to be advised. Thank to all Instructors who have been taking the Thursday classes this year. Val - Head Instructor

Reminding all members that we will NOT be training this coming Sunday 10/11/24 as we have an Agility trial on Saturday. But of course, weather permitting, we will be training on Wednesday evenings. We will be training then on until Sunday 1st December when we have our break up day which consists of half an hour usual training for each usual time slot, and then you can take your dog for some fun activities in our Agility area, our Rally area or our Tricks area for half an hour. We also are having a fun fastest recall for you to try! Plus a sausage sizzle will be available for free! Mark this date in your calender. We wish you all a safe and happy Christmas and see you again in the new year on Sunday February 2nd 2025 & Wednesday February 5th (weather permitting).

Just a reminder that although the weather is warmer please do not wear thongs or open toe sandals for training. This is for your
Safety as we do have exercises where you walk backwards and you could slip out of the thongs. And dogs could tread on your toes in sandals. Thank you. Val - Head Instructor

SUNDAY 1st December Breakup Fun Day
I think the way we have been organising our breakup day these last couple of years has been met with enthusiasm from our handlers. That is that each grade has 20 minutes usual instructing at their usual time slot. Then the handlers and their dogs can go over to just a few rings to let their dogs try out some of our equipment in a fun way. We have the fastest recall area, the Rally ring area and an Agility ring area. We also will be having a free sausage sizzle for a couple of hours. The comments I got from the handlers last year were very good indeed. They had the work and then the play.

Sunday 19th January 2025 - NEW MEMBERS Registration 8.30am - 11am with a small introductory lesson for each group.
RENEWALS for handlers who had already joined earlier in 2024 will be in MARCH 2025.

HELP REQUIRED TO ASSIST OUR VOLUNTEERS.
As many of you may realise, we have a very large number of handlers and their dogs attending our club, with more coming each and every week. Southern Districts is an extremely popular club not just because we have a great deal of knowledge within our Instructors team, but because we are like a family. We enjoy helping our members and treat them all with respect and care for their welfare. But we are growing each and every week and are grateful for the help we get from all our volunteers.
With this growth in mind, we need even more help and assistance - so I am asking if you or a member of your family, would be willing to join us to help by assisting the volunteers we already have in the following positions of our great team:
ASSISTANT TO OUR SECRETARY
ASSISTANT TO OUR TREASURER
ASSISTANT TO OUR AGILITY EQUIPMENT OFFICER
ASSISTANCE IN THE ADMIN AREA ON SUNDAY MORNINGS
(at the tables under the verandah). Or in the office on Wednesday evening training.
All of the above personnel will be with you to advise you of little things you would be asked to help with.

Please note Southern Districts will be training next Sunday (even though it's a long weekend) and also daylight saving time!!! We will of course also be training on the Wednesdays, weather permitting.

WEDNESDAY NIGHTS - RAIN
It is not possible for the Club to predict if it will be raining at the time training is conducted. The Bureau of Meteorology radar may provide a guide.

If its occasional light showers, Instructors will be at the grounds. It can be raining in some suburbs/areas and not be raining at the Dog Club's grounds. However, if it's heavy pouring during the day and into the late afternoon, I will ALWAYS post that we will not be training, well in time for you all to know.

Please always consider your health, safety and that of your dog before deciding to come or not.

If the weather is more extreme, e.g. strong wind, heavy rain, thunder, lightning etc. then for safety reasons training will not go ahead.

NO TRAINING TOMORROW (1ST SEPTEMBER 2024).
After having our grounds inspected this afternoon, I was advised that there were muddy areas where we train puppies, beginners, grade 2 3 4 & 5 plus the trialling ring area. If the forecast rain continues through the night and early morning,, we will definitely have slippery boggy grounds. So with that in mind I have unfortunately decided that it would be wiser to let you all know now that we will not be training tomorrow. So stay safe, dry and warm and please practice what we have taught you in the classes, ready for next week. We wish you all a happy Fathers Day.. My apologies. Val - Head Instructor
