"What CAN'T I feed to my Chickens?"

We get asked this question all the time so hope this helps.
.. Don't feed anything that will expand after consumption (raw/under cooked beans/lentils, uncooked rice, uncooked grains, etc).. Don't feed green or sprouting potatoes. Small amounts of raw potato skins/flesh okay. Cooked potatoes and potato skins are fine... Don't feed avocado pits or skins... Don't feed: Apple seeds or eggplant/rhubarb leaves... Raw eggs (I cook them up scrambled with CRUSHED egg shell and feed back to the chickens.).. Don't feed candy or chocolate ( I don't like to share it anyway).. Most chickens won't eat citrus.

Anything else that you eat, they can eat. Like us, our chickens are omnivores who eat meat/protein, vegetables, grains, fruits, etc. Bread is on the chart below - I use that as treats sparingly. Same with corn which metabolizes as sugar. (But they love a corn cob!)
