Our bees in the hills are starving and this will help ours and the hive we are bee-sitting, as they’re living hand to mouth with how dry it’s been.
No, we do not harvest honey from our fed hives as it’s not pure honey.

Not bees, but will get us back to doing bees at our away apiaries.

Already replaced 3 hoses Friday and Saturday, did the final 4 today. Todays trophies, just to flush the system and refill with clean coolant and we should be able to travel more than 10kms before the temp fluctuates from normal to oh buzz we need to stop now and let it cool down, or a hose decided to become a sprinkler.

Attended the free Varroa Management workshop on Saturday, until family emergency.
Highly recommended attending one of these free workshops to keep up with new information and treatments to manage Varroa destructor.

Off topic of bees a little but what led into the obsession about learning and working with them, Serina here

13 years ago yesterday I had the diagnosis that proved my failing health wasn’t all in my head, I was diagnosed with a 22mm Chiari malformation (where your brain pushed through your skull in the same hole your spinal cord does to go into your spine. Thankyou Dr John Joseph at Oakden Medical Centre & Paradise Medical centre for supporting me and giving me the referral so I could pay for my own mri to get the proof I needed to get help with my medical condition (surgery to remove part of my skull, dura patch and spinal laminectomy of C1 and C2, followed by a titanium plate as my brain slumped again. I can now walk, talk, feed myself, work with the bees and study for what was diploma but have upgraded to the Bachelor of Health Science Naturopathy.
I’d like to thank everyone that supported me when I was “a diva” about not dying or becoming paralysed, and having the surgery on my skull and neck that saved my life.
Currently the same Dr is helping me organise my ADHD assessment and I greatly appreciate his support, this should be finalised by the end of February.
What an anniversary gift though, removing 3 colonies of bees at the Enfield Memorial Park

Please for public safety and I mean no disrespect.

If public safety risk management that I have to prepare not only for jobs but my public liability insurance is ignored and people go across bunting, which states caution high bee activity swarm collection in process and you get stung I’m sorry but that is at your own risk.

Update on incident with Jim’s van Actual dashcam footage (not just me taking a video on my phone of dash cam) was downloaded onto flash drive and handed in at Holden Hill police station, to go with statement made on Tuesday afternoon. Police officer watched the footage and agreed I did nothing wrong (other than my admission of breaking the speed limit for a few seconds, I said that I knew I had broken the speed limit and expect a ticket), it is obvious in the footage of the drink being thrown that it came from the same Jim’s van (same rego number on dash cam footage) as you can see the throwing arm motion as the drink was thrown the police officer pointed this out to me. They will be taking this further and I may have to go to court (good). People if your in a rush don’t drive like an idiot and put others lives at risk to get where you’re going get there safe, and don’t be a unit and think it’s ok to throw things at peoples cars, because you don’t like your driving being complained about to the franchise. As I said before and to the police I would have let it go and not reported him to the police if he hadn’t thrown the drink.

The “evil” hive that hates Cody, they aren’t angry just very full he gets lit up, I don’t get stung although could’ve done with the dose of venom today with the why I’m in need of anti inflammatories. Total of 20 hives up there now in both Cody and my apiary, edging close to the 40 hive mark before we downsize back to 5 each.

Taught Cody my work smarter not harder trick to putting grommets/eyelets in the side of frames. Slide a nail through the grommet into the hole and hit once, no smashed fingers or askew alignment on wiring.
