Thank you for the condolences for Jewel 31/10/2011 - 14/09/2025. UCFC (ultimate cat fight club) name Jeweleus gleutus maximus fatticus catticus, king of the fat cats. A name given by the boys when the three cats would play
Jewel joined our family back in January 2012, two months after I was diagnosed with a 22mm Chiari malformation that left me with limited mobility. From the very beginning, she became my little angel with whiskers, curling up in bed beside me through four years of difficult days, both before and after brain and spinal surgeries. In recent years, she also became Codyâs cuddle companion, supporting him as he managed work challenges and helped me navigate my late-in-life diagnosis of AuDHD. Her presence gave us both comfort and strength, helping me continue to be the mother, beekeeper, and healer I aspired to be.
When Jewel first came to us, her paws and whiskers seemed bigger than she was. Our Labrador, Kane, adored her from day one and kept a gentle watch over her. She soon gained a best friend in Patchyâalso known as Princess Patchyfoot or Patchouliâwhose mother had taken her in after Jewelâs litter was abandoned. The two of them were inseparable.
Jewel had such a big personality. She was very vocal, announcing proudly whenever she had âcaughtâ her toy mouse or when she was looking for cuddles. She loved everyone, never shy about demanding pats, and delighted in her favorite gamesâlike shuffle cat with the broom, or locking her back paws into the arches of our feet for âpuppy patsâ (rough pats she insisted on, having grown up alongside a boisterous Labrador).
At nearly 14 years old, Jewel remained the same affectionate, playful, and loving companion we had always known. She filled our lives with warmth and joy, and she will be deeply missed every single day.
