FYI Scent Work Team

The SWAC is doing a Mock Scent Work Trial on Sunday with Novice Interior and Excellent Containers on offer. Check the schedule on the SW SA page for details and eligibility criteria.
Please just note David Roche Park will be busy Sunday so this isn't really suitable for nervous or reactive dogs but you can register to attend as an observer only if you still want to be involved.

Obedience Training returns Monday 3rd March 2025.

To beat the line next Monday night Julie & Dorothy will be at the club between 6.30pm and 7.30pm tonight taking memberships and training fees. We can take cash or card.

Please don't bring your dogs into the club rooms.

Club Membership Fees (Handlers)
Single: $15.00
Double: $20.00
Junior: $5.00
Pensioner/Concession Holder: $10.00
Kennel: $20 (double) for the 1st two partners plus $10 for each additional partner in kennel name.

Annual Obedience Training Fee
From March 3rd 2025 – 24th November 2025 $70.00

Time to do your Membership Renewal and Training Fees for Obedience Training in 2025.

To beat the rush when obedience training starts back up 3rd March you are welcome to come down and process your membership tonight. Dorothy & Julie will be at the club from 6.30pm.

• Please don't bring your dogs into the club rooms
• You will be able to pay by card or cash
• Please bring a completed membership form AND copies of your dog’s vaccinations (can be photo on your phone).
• Make sure you read the Club rules when renewing - part of being a member means you accept the Club Rules so make sure you have read and understand them.

Fireworks Notice 🎆

The Grange Golf course is hosting the LIV Golf Tournament from Wednesday 12th February through to Sunday 16th February 2025.

There will be shot gun firing and fireworks occurring over the weekend. Where possible please ensure your fur babies are safe and comfortable inside, that they have their ID on them, and that your information is up to date on Dogs and Cats Online. Please ensure your fencing is secure.

Summer Puppies and Beginners & Rally Training will go ahead Monday 10th Feb.

Estimated temperature at 7pm is 31 degrees which is in line with the hot weather policy.

Will also be a good time for paying membership and training fees before Obedience Training starts again in March. Get in early and beat the long line when we return.

SUMMER PUPPIES & BEGGINERS AND RALLY TRAINING CANCELED 3/2/25

In line with the hot weather policy training is cancelled on Monday 3rd February as the predicted temperature at 7:30pm is still 35 degrees.

This is too hot 🔥 for not only the dogs but the handlers and instructors.

Stay cool and keep up your training either inside in the air-con or early morning and we hope to see you all the following Monday.

Summer RATG (Retrieving Ability Test for Gundogs) Training

The club would like to thank Jessie and Lynne for running the Summer RATG training. All the participants learnt a lot and can now work on their knowledge ready for the clubs RATG's which will be held in May.

Last night training moved to water retrieves. All the dogs loved the water showing their natural instincts to retrieve as gundogs.

It is wonderful to watch them do what they where bred to do instinctively. Even the puppies already know what to do with just a little training.

Sorry didn't get a photo of all the dogs. We also had Labrador, Hungarian Vizsla, Cocker Spaniel and Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers.

🐾 𝗧𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 🐾

The park on the north side of the Woodville Oval Complex is currently closed for a major irrigation upgrade until Friday, 7 February.

This important upgrade will enhance turf maintenance and provide a better experience at the reserve for the community (including our furry friends! 🐶) in the future.

We appreciate your understanding and patience during this time.
