‼️IMPORTANT UPDATE: PET MICROCHIPPING ‼️

There are many Microchip Pet Registry companies in operation however as you may have seen on the news, 'HomeSafeID' pet microchip registry will soon cease to operate. This means if your pet's microchip is registered with HomeSafeID, you will need to change your microchip registration to another company.

Once HomeSafe ID ceases to operate, vet clinics and the council will NOT be able to access your details to reunite you with your pet should they go missing/be found.

What you need to do:

🔴If you know your pets microchip number, you can enter the number at petaddress.com.au This will tell you which registry your pet is registered to - if it is HomeSafe ID, or you do not get a listing, you will need to register your pets microchip with another database. (Please note- there is usually a small fee to register your pets microchips with a registry.)
We suggest using ONE of the following:
🐾Australasian Animal Registry (https://www.myras.com.au/AAR/register/Registration.aspx)
🐾Central Animal Records (https://car.com.au/pages/list-a-pet)
🐾Global Micro Animal Registry (https://bit.ly/HomesafeRe-registration)
Global are currently offering those clients affected to change over for free, as long as the owner details are the same)

🔴If you do not know your pets microchip number - not to worry. Just give the clinic a call and we can check our records here. If we do not have your pets microchip number on file, we can arrange for you and your pet to pop in for us to scan your pets microchip number. We can then ensure your details are up to date or advise if you need to do anything further.

At CHV, we don't see many animals registered with HomeSafeID but it is important that all clients check to make sure. It is also a good opportunity to update details on microchips to ensure you have the correct phone numbers and address recorded ✅🙂

🐾🥳😁PUPPY PRESCHOOL AT CHV 😁🥳🐾

We are SUPER excited to announce that we are back up and running with a puppy preschool! Our first class is starting on Wednesday 5th March!

Our 5 week structured program is designed to help your puppy grow in confidence while giving you essential training insights. Each session will focus on calmness, comfort, and positive learning experiences. We’ll cover essential skills like socialisation, polite greetings, impulse control, confidence-building, and much more. You’ll also get plenty of opportunities to ask questions and strengthen your bond with your pup!

Pups must be no older than 12weeks for the first session and we have limited spots per class.

Beat the heat and dive into a pet-safe summer! 🐾☀️ Follow these pool safety tips to keep your furry friends cool and secure. (These can also be adapted for other sources of water such as the ocean, lakes and rivers!):

🏊‍♂️ Teach them to swim: Introduce your pets to water gradually and ensure they can confidently paddle.

🚫 Supervision is key: Always watch when your pets are around the pool. Accidents can happen fast!

🐾 Provide an exit strategy: Make sure pets can easily exit the pool, like a pet-friendly ramp.

🧼 Rinse off after a swim: Chlorine and pool chemicals can irritate their skin, so a quick rinse is a must.

🚧 Secure pool area: Use a pet-proof fence or gate to restrict access when you're not around.

We are aware of the current bush fire on Education Road and are monitoring the situation closely.

We have arranged alternate housing at another vet clinic for our cattery cats and hospital patients if we are required to evacuate.

We recommend people in the Happy Valley, Aberfoyle Park and surrounding areas to be monitoring the cfs website for up to date information and warnings.

Please stay safe and out of the way of the emergency services trying to get this under control.

Clinic cat 2.0? 👀🐾 This GORGEOUS boy has come into our lives and we are trying ever so hard to convince the boss to let us have another clinic cat 🙈😻He is so loving and cuddly and just wants to be around you. He is the best baker ever and is constantly making bikkies 🙈🙊Here he is just chilling with the nurses on lunchbreak. We are not too sure that Chandler approves yet BUT who thinks we should add this gorgeous boy to our team? 🙈🐾

Now stocking the Dr Lisa DOG and CAT wipes! These wipes are perfect for cleaning eye goobies and facial folds of our squishy fur babies (as demonstrated on one of our nurses dogs Leo 🐾)! Also great to use as a freshen up in between baths and awesome to keep in the car for those muddy paws 🐾
