We are looking for a new home for this 9month old boy. Unfortunately it has not worked out in his current home. This handsome boy is currently in training, working on building his confidence and managing his reactivity. While he can be a little unsure in new situations, he’s making great progress and needs the right home to continue helping him grow.

He currently lives with other dogs and gets along with all of them.

His current trainer is available to continue in his new home, if the new owner would like.

What It Means to Be a Balanced Trainer

Being a balanced trainer isn’t about being “harsh” or “all positive”—it’s about being fair, clear, and effective so dogs truly understand what’s expected of them.

When I first started training, I knew I didn’t want to rely on just one method. I wanted to do what’s best for the dog, making sure training was both structured and rewarding.

That’s why I use all four quadrants of learning to guide my approach:
🏆 Positive Reinforcement (R+) – Lots of rewards (food, praise, play) to reinforce good choices.
🚦Positive Punishment (P+) – Fair corrections (leash pressure, verbal marker) to discourage unwanted behaviours.
🎯Negative Reinforcement (R-) – Guiding the dog and removing pressure when they make the right choice.
⏸️ Negative Punishment (P-) – Taking away something the dog wants (attention, toy) to stop unwanted behaviour.

Balanced Training is About:
✅ Clarity – Dogs need to know what’s expected of them.
✅ Fairness – Corrections are used thoughtfully, never harshly.
✅ Heavy Reward Use – Reinforcing the right choices builds confidence and motivation.
✅ Effective Communication – Clear guidance prevents confusion.
✅ Building a Strong Bond – Training should strengthen your relationship, not weaken it.
✅ Using the Right Tools – Every dog is different, so I use equipment that suits their needs and helps them succeed (this includes slip leads, prong collars, harnesses, muzzles etc.).

I train them to understand, trust, and work with us. Every dog is different, but one thing stays the same: they all thrive when training is balanced and clear!

It’s always important for early exposure to be positive! With Bailey, I made sure she was comfortable with the brush before I even brushed her. I reinforced her calmness and showed her that is wasn’t a big deal and that she could relax.
