Welcome to About Town Dog Studio, we are a grooming salon located in Glenunga on Portrush Rd SA. Our friendly staff offer a range of styles to all dogs.

Here we offer a range of services including nails trims, bath and blow dry, de shedding, hair clips of all breeds and styles plus more We invite everyone from the littlest pups to the giant pooches, we enjoy all dogs from young bubs to the really old timers. Do you love dogs and want to get into the animal care industry?

We are currently seeking a reliable, friendly, dog loving individual to work as a junior dog washer; must be available 4-5 days a week from 8am Monday-Friday.
Needs to be physically fit and able to lift dogs, and not afraid of the dirty jobs!
On the job training provided, Previous experience not essential, but favourable.

Why is winter/wet weather grooming important for your dog? 🐩🐾

There’s a common misconception that dogs require less grooming over the colder months in order to grow their coats long and keep them warm during winter; but this is simply not true. In fact, in many ways, grooming over the winter months becomes even more important to the health of your dog.

If left without grooming attention long, wet, matted hair can create a cold, wet and infection-susceptible dog. Matted fur does not insulate the dog as a healthy well-groomed coat would; it can cause discomfort, pain and even hot spots. Regular grooming throughout all seasons allows dogs to better regulate their temperature, reduces shedding, removes dirt and debris and promotes healthy skin and coat growth.

Additionally, our experienced groomers can clip coats to different lengths depending on the time of year (and coat condition)! We offer a range of grooming services that can be tailored specifically to your dog from a full clip, a wash and blow-dry or simply a quick nail clip!
