SORRY! 😭

Just wanted to jump on and apologise for any delays in responding to emails and messages. I've also been very far behind in training plans.

This gorgeous boy of mine (Major) just had a little surgery but has been a super clingy boy ever since and I've had to work around his needs right now. 💞

This is my first experience with caring for senior dogs in my home and boy is it getting tough watching them go through all the things old age throws at them. 😭

So please bare with me as I navigate running a business and supporting my own dogs through the next health scare! 💕

With the heat absolutely blasting us all in Adelaide today it is a great reminder to keep our furry family members cool, hydrated and enriched! 🐾

To keep your pup safe in heat like this remember to:
🌡Check the pavers before walking! If you can't keep your hand on the ground for 5seconds then it is too hot!
💧There's no harm in skipping a walk on days like these and instead engage in some fun water play like these happy pups below!
🏠 If you are able to bring your dog inside to rest under the air-conditioning then make sure they have plenty of shade and water!

This year has been an absolute whirlwind, here arw some of the things we've been up to:

🐾 Ears Up Dog Training was launched
🐾 I began to get more and more clients
🐾 I started a new service: Enrichment Visits!
🐾 I got the most amazing clients I could have ever hoped for! 🥰
🐾 Most importantly I have had so much fun, learnt more than I thought possible in a short time, met amazing dogs and people and my passion for this industry has continued to grow 💕

Thankyou so much to all of my incredible clients and ofcourse their dogs 🐕

To Our Loyal Supporters,

It’s Jennifer here, founder of Safe Pets Safe Families. We’ve just come out of our board meeting and decided that we have no choice but to put it all on the line tonight. Our organisation desperately needs funds to stay afloat. It’s the honest truth. I need to say it how it is. We are currently turning people away and upsettingly, we can’t continue our services into the New Year if we don't raise vital funds tonight.

I started this organisation to prevent others experiencing what I did – the loss of my dogs, my fur children, when I fled domestic violence. I soon realised that pets mean the world to everyone, and that all vulnerable people and pets need and deserve support.

Having watched the charity grow over the years, I am as sure as ever that our community needs our support. In a big way, the health and wellbeing of people and pets depends on us.

We’ve done some great things. Take for example Jimmy and Seb.

Jimmy and Seb are homeless and living rough. When Seb the dog became unwell, Jimmy was exceptionally stressed with the financial burden of needing to take Seb to the vet multiple times. That stress magnified when he was told that Seb needed surgery to remove a tumor from his paw.

Jimmy was researching loans to pay for the surgery when he stumbled across Safe Pets Safe Families and learned we could help people in his position. He emailed us immediately and within a few hours had received a call from our case worker, who got Seb into one of our partner vets the same day. Surgery was scheduled and once complete, a no interest payment plan was put in place.

“I was so thankful, not having to have the money up front. Not only did Safe Pets save Seb’s life but mine as well. I was in such a low place that losing my mate would have killed me. We’ve always kept each other strong through our rough life. Words can’t describe how grateful I am, and I know if Seb could speak, he’d say thank you too!!!”.

Sadly, we are currently declining clients as we don’t have the funds to keep up with demand. It pains me so much. It’s not what I want to do and unless we can raise these funds, we face the prospect of closing our doors for good. We need to do something and fast, as there are so many people and their pets that desperately need help.

I’m putting it all on the line tonight.

We need to raise at least $50,000 to allow us to continue to help people and their pets and continue doing what we do best.

Just $5 from each and every one of you would get us to our goal. It’s the cost of your next cup of coffee but one that will help us more than you ever know.

This little lady is such a poser I could not resist getting a snap after our session 😍

✨️ Suzie also blew me away in only our second session she chose to trot on over to her bed and have a big SNOOZE!

✨️ You're probably thinking that's not a big deal, however this is huge progress for Suzie! She has been struggling to rest and sleep throughout the day and stays on high alert to sounds in her neighbourhood.

✨️ Dogs should also get between 18-20hrs of sleep a day! And just like you they don't function well when they're tired!

✨️ So our goal from our first session was to put in some management strategies and begin facilitating a relaxation station during the day to help Suzie relax and catch some 💤

And look at that progress from just one week!! 😍

How handsome is this boy 😍

To say that he has absolutely flourished in his individualised canine coaching sessions is an understatement 🥺

From our first session, Doug would consistently pace, move, look for things to react to and generally be in a constant high state of mind.

With the right balance of Enrichment, training and relaxation time he is now a dog who has the skills to emotionally regulate his emotions and will opt to relax.

His mum has done such an incredible job with since adopting him 👏🏻

Ears Up Dog Training with be closed for festive season from the 24th of December to the 1st of January, resuming business on the 2nd of January 2025. 🐾

I want to take this time to say THANKYOU, to all of my clients in 2024. It has been an absolute whirlwind of a time beginning this little business this year and it just would not have been possible without all of my incredible clients!! I am truly blessed to have such supportive, amazing and hard working clients that I do! you have made running my own business fun, motivating, rewarding and everything I could have hoped for.

An especially big thankyou to those of you who have talked about my little business, spread my name out there recommended me. For a small business word-of-mouth is incredibly valuable in keeping us running and operating so thankyou thankyou thankyou. 🫶
