Let’s celebrate responsibly and keep our pets safe. Fireworks may dazzle us, but they can be distressing for pets. Here are some great tips for keeping pets safe during the fireworks:
- set up a quiet area for pets to retreat to prevent escapes during loud noises. 🤫
- consider anxiety wraps or calming products 💤
- ensure pets have proper and up-to-date identification 🆔

🌡With rising temperatures, it’s essential to keep our pets safe from heatstroke. Watch for signs like excessive panting, drooling, weakness or disorientation. 🌞

Prevention Tips:
- Keep fresh water and shade available. ⛱💧
- Limit exercise during peak heat. 👣🐾
- Never leave pets in hot cars. 🔥🚙

If you suspect heatstroke, contact your vet immediately! Let’s keep your pets cool this summer. 😎

Safe Christmas Tip! ✅
Visitors can upset pets, as the noise and excitement of holiday parties and celebrations. Even pets that aren’t normally shy may become nervous in the hustle and bustle of festivities. Ensure they have a safe and secure location they can retreat to or be held in during the party duration. If medication is required, ensure to consult with a vet before the stressful event. 🎅🎄

It’s all fun and games until the sedation medication kicks in… 🫢🥴

Aida, a nearly 2-year-old Bull Mastiff mix, visited our Salisbury Park clinic for some skin concerns, which required sedation to examine a swollen hind paw. Before the sedation, Aida was showing Nurse Gracie just how strong she is and giving lots of cuddles. The other photo shows Aida once the medication took effect. Little (or should I say big) Miss recovered very well! 🤗

Sprocket, a 12.5-year-old Jack Russell, visited our clinic in Mawson Lakes for a stage 1 dental procedure. This procedure involved a scale and polish of his teeth, along with full dental x-rays to identify which teeth would need to be removed during his stage 2 dental procedure. He was a brave boy and found comfort in his little toy during recovery. Sprocket will be returning in 2-3 weeks for his next procedure, and we wish him a speedy recovery! 💙
