Feeling the heat? So is our local wildlife! ☀️

Here’s a simple way to help keep our wildlife safe:
1. Grab a bowl
2. Add sticks and rocks (so our scaly and feathered friends don’t accidentally fall in)
3. Place it under a shady tree
4. Pat yourself on the back for being a wildlife hero!

A big shoutout to the incredible wildlife professional Di Hakof for demonstrating this method.

Even the smallest actions—like providing a safe, shallow water source—can make a huge difference in helping animals beat the heat!

Yesterday we had to say “We are sorry that our state will not protect you this year.”💔

The South Australian Government just declared a 2025 duck hunting season from 22 March to 29 June, despite:

-Half of our precious waterbirds disappearing in the last year due to drought and degraded habitats.

-The terrifying threat of highly infectious bird flu creeping ever closer to our shores.

By permitting another cruel duck hunting season, South Australia is gambling with wildlife welfare and potential disease control. It’s deeply disturbing that a tiny minority is given the green light to bring wounding and stress into our waterbirds’ fragile habitat at a time when we should be bolstering our waterbirds’ (disease) resilience and survival.

They don't have a voice, but YOU do. 💜

Send a short email to Premier Peter Malinauskas at [email protected] and voice your concerns about the 2025 duck hunting season. Please include your full name and postcode.

Tell them: Enough wildlife wounding and disturbance. Please meet community expectations and end duck hunting—now. 😭

You saved your pet's life— let us know how they saved yours. 💙

At RSPCA South Australia, we’ve seen first-hand how adopting a rescue pet can transform your life in ways you never imagined.

We’re looking for people who've have experienced a life-changing connection with their adopted RSPCA pet to feature in a video for an upcoming adoption campaign.

Whether they’ve guided you through loneliness, heartbreak, or a new chapter in life, we'd love to hear how your pet has rescued you.

✍️If you’re comfortable speaking on camera and are available for filming on Monday 10 February, please let us know a few details about you and your pet here: https://brnw.ch/21wQ2tG

By sharing your journey, you’ll help inspire others to open their hearts and homes to an animal in need, discovering for themselves the powerful connection that only a rescue pet can bring.

Meet Rocky and Scooter, the sweetest bonded pair you’ll ever see! These two were adopted from RSPCA SA in 2023, and they’re living proof that sometimes love really does come in twos.

A “bonded pair” means they need to stay together—because they’re simply inseparable. Without each other, they feel lost and anxious. But when they’re side by side, they do amazing things!

Rocky and Scooter’s Dad, Ben, was initially hesitant to adopt two dogs instead of one. Now he says they’re thriving more each month and can’t imagine life without his “dingleberry twins.”

Thinking two might be better than one? Check out our animals in need of a home, and see if your perfect pair is waiting: https://brnw.ch/21wPXfe

Joe has completely stolen our hearts! Just LOOK at this gorgeous boy. 🥺❤️ (P.S he is our Pet of the Week | $95 adoption fee)

He is one of the most loving, big- hearted pups around, ready to fill your life with tail-wagging happiness. One glance into his warm, brown, soulful eyes, and you’ll see just how eager he is to find a family to call his own.

He's a playful boy who would be amazing for a family. He'll spring into action for a game of fetch, trot happily beside you on long walks, and then curl up close when it’s time to wind down.

Joe is simply perfect. Come meet him this weekend and see for yourself—just look at that sweet face!

We’re so lucky to have incredible supporters like Melissa and her two daughters, Charlotte and Amelia. Over their school holidays, this amazing family poured their time and love into making enrichment toys for the bunnies in our care—despite already having their own beloved bunnies at home!

When we asked Melissa if we could share their story, her response reminded us of the true meaning of giving:

💬 “Oh no, I’m not doing it for that. I genuinely just want to help because of all you do for the animals.”

Their thoughtful creations have brought so much joy to the bunnies, and when they came to deliver the goodies, they somehow resisted the strong temptation to adopt another one! 🐇

Melissa, your generosity and passion for animals inspire us all. Thank you to you and your wonderful daughters for opening your hearts and caring for the animals in our care. 💕

Some were cherished pets once. Some were abandoned on lonely roads. Some have known only fear and pain. 💔

Yet, despite all they’ve endured, each of these dogs clings to a single hope: to find a place where they truly belong. 🥺

Shelter dogs often wear the weight of stereotypes, but look into their eyes and you’ll see their souls that will love unconditionally. Every wag of their tail is a testament to their resilience. Every gentle nuzzle, a plea: “Please see me for who I am, not where I came from.”

If you could be that ray of light for a lonely dog, please consider fostering or adopting. You or someone you know could hold the power to rewrite their story.

And to all who have already opened your hearts to these incredible souls: thank you. You’re living proof of the good in this world. You’re the reason these animals find not just shelter, but a home. Thank you for believing in second chances—and for making our mission possible for every creature, great and small.

🐾 Do You Remember Monty? 🐾

A few months ago, we introduced you to Monty—a courageous ginger tabby who survived severe burns in a tragic bonfire accident. His unbreakable spirit and sweet nature inspired us all, and your incredible support played a huge role in his recovery.

Today, we’re overjoyed to share Monty’s happy ending! 💖 He’s found his forever home with Lesley, one of our wonderful volunteers who cared for him during his recovery. Lesley says she knew Monty was meant to be part of her family, and now he’s thriving in a home filled with love.

For everyone who followed Monty’s journey or supported him along the way—this happy update is for you. Thank you for helping us give animals like Monty a second chance.

Living proof that shelter dogs can make the best companions! 🐾🥺

"When my family moved from Luxembourg to Australia in July, we sadly couldn't bring our elderly Westie, W***y, due to his health. My husband stayed back to care for him until it's his time to cross the Rainbow Bridge. W***y was adopted from a shelter in France years ago and brought so much joy to our lives.

When we arrived in Australia, our home felt incomplete. I wanted to wait for my husband to join us before adopting, but one evening, I saw Cindy's face on the RSPCA website—and I just knew she was the one. The next morning, I went straight to the shelter, and an hour later, Cindy was on her way to her new home.

She's been an absolute doll from day one! She loves attention (and makes sure to let us know loudly), and though she has a little separation anxiety, she's settling in beautifully. Cindy has truly become part of our family, always by my side, and we're so grateful to RSPCA for bringing her into our lives."

Shelter pets deserve all the love in the world—and they give it back tenfold. 💕

Thank you to Fiona and Cindy for sharing your heart warming story🥰

How a Pet Can Help You Keep Your New Year’s Resolution! 🐾💖

New year, new you—and your furry friend is ready to help! Here are 5 paw-some ways pets can keep you on track with your 2025 goals:

1️⃣ Get Moving Together
Want to exercise more? Your dog’s wagging tail or your cat’s playful pounces are the best motivators. Daily walks, fetch sessions, or even chasing a feather toy will keep you both active and happy! 🐕🐾

2️⃣ Stress Less with Cuddles
Feeling overwhelmed? Snuggle up with your pet for instant stress relief. Science says pet cuddles release feel-good hormones—and who can resist those big, loving eyes? 🐾❤️

3️⃣ Stick to a Routine
Your pet thrives on structure, and they’ll help you create healthy habits too. Feeding times, walks, and playtime keep you on a schedule that’s good for them and you! 🕒🐾

4️⃣ Learn to Be Present
Pets live in the moment, and they’ll remind you to do the same. Whether it’s watching a bunny do zoomies or feeling a soft purr, they’ll teach you to slow down and savor the little things. 🌸🐾

5️⃣ Spread More Love
Your pet shows you unconditional love every single day—why not pay it forward? From giving compliments to lending a helping hand, their big hearts inspire us to be kinder humans. 💞🐾

Make 2025 the year you and your furry family conquer your goals together. 🐶🐱🐰 Ready to add a new best friend to your journey? 👉 https://brnw.ch/21wPKwP
