Petsland is A Family Owned Pet Store in Port Adelaide that sells pets and pet products. Purchasing a pet should not be a spur of the moment decision.

Family owned Pet shop since 2005, we offer more than just pets and accessories. Our friendly staff have completed various animal nutrition & national tafe accredited training on both animal health and care. Ongoing relationships with our vets and breeders ensures that our customers receive accurate and up to date information on all pets and their needs. Serious consideration should be made to ensu

re that the pet you are choosing is suited to both you and your lifestyle. Housing, feeding and ongoing cost should all be considered before making the important decision of bringing home any new pet. Here at Petsland, staff and management are passionately anti “puppy farm” and only source our puppies from local loving homes, as with all our pets available for sale (excludes fish). In 2009 Petsland stopped selling kittens and refers our customers to Ginger Ninja Rescue where all kittens are vaccinated and de-sexed prior to sale. Here at Petsland we have a huge range of pets and accessories ranging from puppies, birds, fish, rabbits, rats, mice, turtles, reptiles, ferrets and amphibians. We also stock premium dog and cat foods such as Hills Science Diet. Everything you need from housing to feeding your new pet is available right here.

Cat and kitten adoption day in full swing. Gone are the days when there was a "Kitten" season. Lucky Little paws adoption are inundated with kittens and older cats who have been let down by us humans. If you are ready to welcome a new indoor only family member, come down and see the wonderful rescuers and carers from lucky little paws. Without any funding and more often than not, funding completely by themselves and generous donations from the caring public,you can help them continue their amazing work and bring some love to these homeless Little souls.

Be vigilant during this heatwave with all pets.
Even pond fish can suffer in this heat. A shallow ponds temperature can increase causing stress and often can be fatal. Filled frozen milk bottles of water can help keep the temperature down
Bring Small breed animals indoor or supply frozen bottles to ones that you can't bring in.
Regularly spray aviary birds and supply plenty of bathing water

What are barn cats?

Barn cats are usually stray cats who grew up without much human contact. We have a few barn cats who are fully vetted and ready for a new home.

Barn cats are just like any other cat, except they prefer not to have close physical interaction with people. Whilst they don’t wish to be lap cats, their lives and happiness are important. We are committed to finding them a home that is suitable for their personality.

What do I need to do?

You need to confine them to a secure, enclosed area with access to windows for four weeks, providing food, water and a litter tray in that area. During that time, they will become accustomed to their new home and territory, reducing the likelihood of them going missing.
After the four week period, you can start letting them out, but still feeding them in their original confined area.
We require you to feed them cat food at least once a day, preferably twice, and provide vet care when needed.

What happens when they need to see a vet?

Depending on their personality and how they feel about human contact, you may need to trap them using a humane trap. We will endeavour to help you with that; as much notice as possible is helpful. Over time, many barn cats become more comfortable with human contact so you may not need to trap them.

All barn cats are desexed, microchipped and vaccinated. No fee is charged for their rehoming.

They are chunky boys with the softest coats and as you can see stunning markings (Jasper the tabby) They come with all their vet work done and are looking for a strictly indoor home. If you love head bumps and super smooches these boys are for you. Do you need these handsome furbabies in your life??😻😻. Meet Chai and Latte. These gorgeous girls were dumped at the rear of our shop. Lovely Kath who works in the mall found them and bought them in to us. From there they went into loving foster care with Ginger Ninja so they could have all their vet work done ready to find their forever home. I must say we have a special place in our hearts for these sweeties and would love nothing more than for them to find a home together. They are so sweet and gentle😻😍
