UPDATE: (2/2/23) We have had the most amazing outpouring of love, support and information sent to us regarding this mystery girl. We know emotions are high and everyone is invested in the best possible outcome for this little girl.

We apologise if we have not replied to each and every message, in excess of 120,000 people have looked at her information and all who have shared her post - thank you.

DO YOU KNOW ME? We are trying to find the owner of this little girl. local council have transferred her to a holding pound. we have one week to find owner.

This little girl was found in Gawler South Australia last Friday. We have advertised on all lost dog/Whippet sites. No luck. Council has today transferred her to a private 'pound'. We are presuming she is either not microchipped or details not updated. We are desperate and now wondering if she's visiting in from interstate. Please share. We need to find her humans.
We are trying to get foster rights until we find owner. It's better is she's with her own type. Not a pound.

You must know that we animals live intensely in the present. Our lives begin when we know love, the same love you gave me, my wingless angel.
Please don't cry anymore. I leave happy.
I remember the name you gave me, the warmth of your house which at that time became mine. I hear the sound of his voice talking to me, even if I don't always understand what he is saying to me.
I carry in my heart every caress you gave me.
Wash your face and start smiling. There are many like me waiting for someone like you.

This is what it looks like when you surrender your dog to a shelter. This is from a dog who was dropped off to the shelter after being in a quiet home, with a bed, with a family. This is diarrhoea from having an upset stomach. Have you ever been so anxious to the point where you get sick to your stomach? This is a 24/7 feeling for a dog who has been surrendered. “Where is my family?” “Why am I in a cage?” “Why are all these dogs barking at me?” Imagine one day you’re taken from your luxurious life and thrown in prison for no reason, never to see your family again. Did you know 50% of dogs who are surrendered to a shelter don’t make it out? Pets are a lifelong commitment. Do not get an animal if you cannot financially, emotionally, or physically care for one. Newsflash, there is no such thing as a perfect dog or cat. They are expensive and a lot of freaking work. The loyalty of an animal is unmatched. They would never do it to you, so don’t do it to them….
