🎄Merry Christmas from the Rose Park Vet Team

We've had a busy week in the clinic, but we wanted to take a moment to thank you all for your trust & support this year.

A big thanks to those who gifted us with so many heartfelt cards and goodies, not only at Christmas, but throughout the year too. 🎁

From all the team at RPV, we wish you a safe & merry festive break.🐾

Christmas is the time for eating, drinking and being merry, but lots of our favorite festive foods are toxic to our dogs and should be kept well out of paws reach!🐾

Over the festive season vet clinics see a rise in cases of toxic ingestion and consumption of foreign bodies. Being vigilant and aware of common risks at this time of the year is important for pet owners to avoid potentially life-threatening conditions.

If you see or think your dog has eaten anything on this list, or are unsure of other toxic foods, give us a call on 8364 4200.
If our clinic is closed, call the Australian Poisons Centre on 1300 869 738

Keep your four-legged friend safe this Christmas season, so your dog can enjoy the festivities too! 🎄🐾❤

The best way to prevent your dog contracting parvovirus is ensure your pets are up to date with their annual or puppy booster vaccinations, and to monitor your animals for signs of the virus.

If you notice any of the symptoms listed in your dog or puppy’s behavior, seek immediate veterinary assistance. Call us on 8364 4200.

🌾Grass Seed Season 🌾

Grass seeds often lodge themselves into the paws, ears and eyes of dogs. They can also affect cats or other pets which enjoy frolicking in grass.

Here are some signs to look out for 👀

Early recognition of a possible grass seed problem can make treatment more straight forward.

Call us on 08 8364 4200 to book a consultation if you suspect a possible grass seed has worked its way into your pet 🩺

Adelaide 500 is set to return tomorrow and while it is a great event for friends and family, the loud noises that travel through the surrounding suburbs can often affect our beloved pets.

Note: From Friday to Sunday, the popular Air Force Roulettes & Super Hornet will perform.

If your pet gets distressed by these noises and might need a little extra support to help them through, please give us a call to arrange a consult.

It can be hard to say no to those puppy dog eyes, but chocolate can be dangerous to our pets - especially when it’s artificially sweetened or contains raisins.
