I’ve been a bit absent from Facebook of late but I thought I would start a series of posts highlighting my products with dogs who are using them 🐕

First up is the lovely Leía, owned by Jason Crowley, who’s enjoying the stretchy fleece tug with a bungee handle 🙂. Bungee handles are great for reducing the stress on yourself when playing tug with your dog and can be added to a variety of Wild Hair products.

Do you have a Wild Hair toy that looks a bit like this - with something attached to it? Be it a holee roller, a moo udder, a breathe easy ball or something else 🎾

And has this attachment survived but the fleece is all torn?

Well did you know, if you get the attachment back to me I can add some new fleece for a reduced price compared to a new toy?

It’ll be like getting a brand new toy- but cheaper 🙂.

With Christmas just under a week away, I want to wish everyone a lovely Christmas and a happy New Year (which could be made even happier by spoiling your dog with new toys or a lead 😜😆).

I hope that Santa brings your dogs all the bones, chew toys and treats they could desire 🦴🧸

With the Albany dog trials coming up, I’ve worked away into the wee hours to have some stock on hand for those who forgot to get their dog a new toy 😜

And if you’re not coming to Albany but see something you like, perhaps someone can collect for you to save you postage (and maybe their dog will let you have it 🐕😝).

BLAH BLAH BLAH 📣 - NEW TOY ALERT.

I’ve been busy creating away in the background, making snuffle mats and snuffle balls and X toys for Every Day Dogs and also making custom toys.

And now I’ve finally got around to making something with these balls I bought a while ago. They are Chuckit Breathe Right balls. They’re squishy and not too heavy but with an attachment, heavy enough to throw with some accuracy- depending on your skills 😆.

I have limited stock of these as I gauge interest so get in quick if you want to be a trendsetter 🙂

Sniffle, snuffle, sniffle, snuffle 😝

You may have seen snuffle mats on my page (or even elsewhere) and wondered what’s the point.

So pictured below are just 3 (of more) uses of a snuffle mat. There’s the handsome Moorditj using a mini one as a training aid, little Cloud using one for a boredom buster while confined to a crate after an injury (although I think he’s waiting for a refill 😆), and then wise old Jeda who is 16 years old, blind and deaf, but can still enjoy some enrichment using his nose.

I’ve been a bit quiet on Facebook of late but I’ve been creating a rainbow of colourful a leads, toys and snuffle mats in the background 🌈. I have amazing supporters of my products and these latest creations are all going to repeat customers.

The leads are in South Australia and Donna from Every Day Dogs continues to educate her clients in the benefits of snuffle mats and play. In facts, all the X’s are off to puppies in her puppy program. There’s skinny X’s for puppies and small dogs and thicker X’s for bigger dogs. The benefit of an X toy is that it gives options for the dog to grab, and tassels to tease as well.

Do you want me to know your waist size? 😝. Well have I got a deal for you.

Lately I have been making some shorter leads - to the waist measurements of the owner - not because I’m nosey, but because the owners want to be able to run agility with the lead around their middle. And I think I’ve had success at getting the size right.

With Nationals coming up, with the ruling that the lead must stay on you, these leads are the perfect way to have something pretty and still follow the rules.

There’s not much time until the Nationals so if you’d like a special ‘waist’ lead, make contact soon 🙂

Since I make dog toys, I’m all about playing with your dog, but Chook’s owner seems to have taken a different direction - as an impromptu post for a game of quoits 😆

Chook here is sporting an extra strong ring toy, made in a size appropriate for those deadly jaws 😝

I make a variety of ring toys - and can add a moo udder thing too. Ring toys are great for keeping hands away from snapping jaws. Check out my product range album for examples of rings and all other toys too.

Here’s a couple of my recent creations and you might notice that they are made from a fleece that is not available on my page. Well you’d be right 👍

I have 3 different patterns in a fleece that is slightly softer and fluffier than regular fleece, and I haven’t made it’s extistence known before because - well it’s extremely messy when cutting it.

But it’s time for it to go.

So if you’d like a toy or lead in one of these patterns let me know soon, because when it’s gone, it’s gone 😝

Let’s talk snuffling 📣

There’s snuffle mats and snuffle balls and I make these in various sizes.

Mats and balls are useful enrichment toys for your dog (and cat apparently) by encouraging sniffing, which can calm your dog. They are also a useful way to feed your dog by slowing them down. As a bonus the large snuffle mat can also double as a comfy bed for a small dog 😆

Here’s the cute puggles Tex and Leo enjoying their large snuffle mat, a suitable size for flat nosed dogs, along with furry friends of another species 😝. And the video in the comments shows the delight that pretty Sammy has meeting her puffle ball (a small snuffle ball) for the very first time.

I have a puffle ball and some mats (no large) on hand for anyone looking to enrich their dogs (or cats) day now🙂

New Year, new toys 🙂

I’ve been working away in the background, creating some new toys to add to the product range to keep your dogs happy and motivated.

Let me introduce you to their profiles below and see if you can find your match 😜

The Fleece Mop Teaser
This one is made for puppies and soft mouthed dogs, and for those that need a bit more encouragement to play (NOT meant for strong tuggers). It is approximately 85cm long to keep you from looming over your dog and had plenty of tassels for your dog to grab. It can also be made with a loop handle which then also doubles as a handy attachment point for a bungee cord (see purple one) making tugging less jarring. This one is $35 without the bungee cord.

The X Dog
As the name suggests, this is a fleece X shaped toy. There’s multiple points for you and your dog to grab. Or maybe you have more than one dog (and really, who wouldn’t 😜) who like to play with the same toy. This one measure approximately 40cm and costs $35.

The Pocket Tug
Made with rope and fleece to give it strength without bulk so that it can easily fold into your pocket. The handle loop is also a handy point to attach a bungee cord. This one costs $20.

The Puffle
You’ve already met puffle ball, child of snuffle ball but here I am formally adding it to the product range. Puffle is about 12cm in diameter and is great for little dogs. It costs $40.

Stretchy Fleece Tug
This is the thicker fleece tug with a built in bungee cord bringing the total length to about 80cm. This is great for stronger tuggers - thick and strong fleece toy and the bungee lessens the jarring on you and you dog. This costs $30.

The Bungee
The humble piece of elasticated material which makes tugging easier on both your arm and shoulder and the dog. It measures 40cm long. If you want to buy a naked one (ie, not attached to a toy) to add to one of your own toys, it will cost $10.

Phew, that was long! But if you want to find your perfect match, you have to know what you’re getting 😜

As 2022 draws to an end, I thought I would wish everyone a Happy New Year and thank you all for supporting my little hobby business that is Wild Hair.

For many, the end of the year is a time for contemplation and reflection - like young Wynny here. What is she thinking?? Is it that she loves her Wild Hair toy so much that she can’t bear to put it down? Or maybe she’s thinking about all the new Wild Hair toys she’d like to try in 2023 😜

I’ll be trialling some new product designs in 2023 so there will be plenty to choose from to fulfil your dogs toy dreams at Wild Hair 🙂

Here’s the latest orders out and delivered in time for Christmas 🎄. What lucky pups to be getting a Wild Hair toy 🙂

And I might as well introduce you all to child of Snuffle Ball - Puffle 😜. As you can see it’s much smaller than the standard ball I was making, but I had a request and I think Puffle is here to stay.

I hope everyone’s pup has a lovely Christmas, even if they aren’t getting a Wild Hair toy 😆

Now I can’t promise items would be ready for Christmas - especially when I’m at the mercy of Australia Post - but imagine how surprised and joyous your dog would be to get a new toy in the New Year instead 🎁 🙂

Here’s some of the latest orders that have gone to new homes - in case you need to be inspired 🙂. The holee roller is a custom make - just a slight change to the fleece part to attach it permanently to the holee.

A couple of large snuffle mats also found new places to go!!

Sproing, sproing, sproing …

Well here it is - a humble piece of material with magical powers 😜

It’s a bungee handle and it can be a game changer.

For those not familiar, it’s an elasticated, stretchy handle that can be attached to many types of toys that can make tugging easier on your arm and shoulder and easier on your dog. It can easily transform a short, boring toy into a longer wiggly one to entice your dog.

It comes in two colours - lime and purple - and is 40cm long.

Let me explain the bungee three ways.
1. The bungee can be made as part of most toys so it is permanently attached - see the purple toy
2. A toy can be made with a loop, so one minute it’s a handy pocket tug, then attach a bungee for instant length and a softness to your tugging - see the blue and red toy.
3. Or maybe you already have a toy ready for a bungee so you can buy a ‘naked’ one - whoo woo 😆

However you want it, the bungee costs $10.
