Puppies are thriving at 3 and 1/2 weeks old.
Today we have introduced them to the living area pen.
A toileting area down one end of the pen takes advantage of the puppies not wanting to toilet in their sleeping area. I’m always amazed at how quickly they learn to use the grass mat. 😊
We follow the ‘Puppy Culture’ way of bringing up happy, social and resilient pups. This means they are introduced to the right kinds of stimulus at the best time for their development.
This week they have been getting used a variety of noises, including some sudden ones. Each day they have one new item in their pen, including varying surfaces to experience.
Solids have begun… well they have had fun walking through it anyway 😂

Beautiful chubby puppies.

Whelping pen went up today. Black builders plastic on tiled floor, then washable p*e pads. Lastly vet bedding which wicks moisture away from pups and mum.
I have also been feeding Bonnie in here to help her feel comfortable about being in her room.
Should be puppies mid next week. So exciting!!! 🎉💕💙

Light weight collars introduced today. I put them on when I’m watching the pups for short periods so they can get used to the feeling. I also get pups used to having their collar touched/ taken.
