The Barn

The Barn The Barn is nestled in the trees between Aldgate and Stirling and is home to artist Studios, Worth Gallery's show Room and Deborah Twining Art classes.

The barn is a creative environment established to encourage, facilitate, educate and nurture multidisciplinary arts practices. It is home to a gallery space, teaching facility and dedicated artist studio space. Set in the Adelaide hills, The Barn was the old horse stables for the Victorian homestead Wairoa which among other owners belonged to the Barr Smith familiy and served as their summer house

for 30 years. From 1973-2004 Marbury school was run on the property as well as its adjoining properties. The Barn was used by the school for the art department and saw many creative moments over the years. In 2014 the barn has been reinvented once again. Worth Gallery owner and operator Amy Sierp-Worth saw the opportunity for The Barn to house the gallery’s showroom, and studio space to produce it’s commission-based work. The Barn will host regular Art classes and Workshops by local artist Deborah Twining, other guest artists and an artist in residence program will be run in the gallery space. The resident Studio artists at the barn include Sally Arnold, an oil painter, Isingyah Temple, illustrator, Leanne Marshall, jeweller, Jodie Benveniste, author and director of Parent Wellbeing, Miriam Clarkson, textile artist and Deborah Twining, a community artist and educator.
