🥁Excited to reintroduce Dr. Nadia Kingham🥁

Dr. Kingham has been a vital part of our practice since the very beginning, bringing her expertise and compassion to every patient she sees. She’s in the clinic three days a fortnight, so there are plenty of opportunities to see her!
Outside of work, she’s is busy with her two adorable old doggies, Pixie and Maisie. She also shares her home with a lovely Burmese cat named Urma and a cheerful budgie called Harry (pictured).
We’re so grateful to have her on our team.

We are so lucky in the Adelaide Hills to be surrounded by diverse and thriving wildlife. Our appreciation goes to the dedicated and selfless wildlife carers who volunteer their time to nurse injured wildlife back to full health.
At Aldgate Vets, we love being about to support our community by helping any injured wildlife.

🌟Excited to reintroduce Dr. Emily Halloran, one of our dedicated vets at the clinic!🌟

Dr. Emily has been with us for over a year now, bringing her kindness and patience to every patient she sees. Outside of work, she loves spending time with her adorable cat, Louis (featured in the picture), and her two dachshunds, Winston and Oakley. We are so lucky to have her on our team!

Keep an eye out for more staff reintroductions over the next few months.

Meet 'Ozzie', a sensitive patient who experiences anxiety when separated from his family.
His parents were apprehensive about the hospital visit, but with lots of attention and a comfort teddy bear, he adjusted well.
For a less daunting day procedure for your pet, follow these tips:
🐾Bring a familiar comfort item, such as a favourite toy or blanket, to provide reassurance.

🐾Schedule the procedure for a day when you can pick your pet up early, allowing our team to discharge them quickly if needed.

🐾When booking, inform our team about your pet's anxiety, and we'll explore options to meet their needs.

If your pet suffers from anxiety, and needs a procedure,consult with our team to ensure a comfortable hospital stay.

You’ve seen or heard the news – the Adelaide Koala & Wildlife Centre is facing closure. As a wildlife organisation, we’re devastated. 😢
Lacking state or federal funding, and without paying customers to cover costs, the centre relies entirely on donations to stay open.

While we’re grateful that pet vets are willing to take and care for wildlife, the native species specialists at AKWC bring invaluable expertise that enables them to assess and treat wildlife.

Don’t get us wrong – we deeply appreciate all vets and their dedication. But a dedicated wildlife centre is essential as a referral service for general vet practices to address the unique challenges native species face. For example, conditions like poisoning and electrocution can often be missed. Electrocution is particularly common when possums climb along powerlines.
