As Tropical Cyclone Alfred approaches South-East Queensland, expected to make landfall between Noosa and Coolangatta sometime between Friday to Saturday, it's crucial to ensure the safety and well-being of our furry family members.
Here are essential steps to prepare your pets for the impending cyclone:
1. Create a Pet Emergency Kit 🐾
Food & Water: At least a week's supply of pet food and fresh water.
Medications: Include any necessary medications with clear instructions.
Identification: Ensure pets have up-to-date ID tags and microchip information.
Comfort Items: Favorite toys or blankets to help reduce stress.
2. Secure a Safe Space 🏠
Indoors: Keep pets inside in a quiet, secure room away from windows.
Crates/Carriers: Have them accessible in case of evacuation.
3. Stay Informed 📢
Local Updates: Monitor local news and weather reports for evacuation orders and safety guidelines.
