Let's keep them cool! To keep pets cool, ensure they have plenty of fresh, cool water and access to shade and a cool, well-ventilated area. Provide shaded outdoor areas, use cooling mats or damp towels, and consider frozen treats. It's important to remember that moving animals to or from locations where the temperature reaches 35 degrees or above is not possible with Qantas Airlines. Use weatherzone.com.au to plan your animal freight. Weatherzone provides a ten-day forecast, and our staff need a minimum of two day's notice to make your booking. If you're familiar with our page, then you'd recognise Roxie, who belongs to our office manager, Danielle. Danielle is a pet supermum, making sure her pets are vaccinated, wormed, flea and tick treated, but poor Roxie still succumbed to paralysis tick poisoning recently. Rushed to the emergency vet, Roxie received a complete buzz cut all over, antivenom, and three and a half days of intensive care. This is a timely reminder to be vigilant with your tick prevention. With Qantas, we can freight your animals only if the weather is between 5 degrees and 35 degrees at the origin or destination on the date of travel. Virgin is more lenient with temperature requirements but does not fly to or from as many destinations. Weatherzone.com.au provides a ten-day forecast and is a good place to check the weather.
