Alice Springs Obedience Dog Club The Longest Established Dog Obedience Training Club in Alice Springs Classes are on Thursday nights, prior enrolment is ESSENTIAL.

Training is broken into 8 week blocks. Beginners Class: 6.00pm start

Basic Class: 6:30pm - 7pm start

Intermediate 7-7:30pm start

Advanced Class: 7:30pm start

Please be aware that only one person can train one dog in class at any one time. Handlers under 16 years old must be accompanied by a guardian or parent who is an associate member. (associate membership $20)

As we encourage responsible d

og ownership we require that all participating dogs be fully vaccinated and on leash at ALL times

Dogs are not permitted on the grounds until we have sighted this vaccination. Agility Class is by invitation only as we require a certain level of obedience training to have been attained prior to agility commencement.

Don't forgot to bring on Thursday...
* your dog on a well fitting flat or martingale collar (see your instructor to check fit of martingales) who is hungry and not over exercised
* LOADS or scrumptious treats
* even more treats (this will basically be their meal on Thursday nights)
* a flat leash, extendable leads are strictly forbidden on the grounds
* well fitting shoes, no flip flops please!
* water to drink, unfortunately the nicer weather is yet to show itself.

It will be late Feb / early March once the weather is a little kinder.

Don't forget... TONIGHT 6.30PM 50th Birthday Celebrations AND Christmas Party

Training... it's all about 3 steps forward, 2 steps back, baby steps and break throughs. Ida started Beginners Class last term. She couldn't be within about 6 meters of class without reacting, very strongly and she's a very opinionated doggo. Ida has come along in leaps and bounds in her second term and tonight, for the first time ever, was able to partake IN class and walk with dogs on either side of her. This is what doggy school is all about. (OK, so slight exaggeration in the video ha ha) AMAZING PROGRESS! GO IDA

Our Story

Our classes are amid at help to educating owners towards a better understanding of dog behaviours and building a stronger relationship between owner and dog. Owners learn how to teach better manners and social skills as well as formal obedience.

Sign on night 5.30pm for sign on and 6.00pm class start. (No Dogs please). Beginners Class, Basic, Intermediate and Advanced will be held 6.00-6.30pm Trial Class is 6.30pm Prior to sign up night, you must have filled out and returned your forms and payment received to secure your place. If you donโ€™t, please do not be upset if the class has been filled, you will be first on the next block of Classes. Beginners 8 week class is one dog one handler. Please be aware that only one person can train one dog in class at any one time. Handlers under 16 years old must be accompanied by a guardian or parent who is a Associate member.

We prefer Direct deposit when enrolling in beginners then cash is acceptable as a returning member.
