The Alice Springs Animal Shelter cares for animals who are currently homeless and/or have been abused or mistreated. We provide warm, dry, clean, safe shelter, food, love, medical attention and a place to call their own while they’re waiting to be adopted. If your backyard is not fully fenced, your dog is likely to escape, possibly get hit by a car or worse. If you have young children who are not to be trusted with animals, perhaps wait until they grow up and understand the responsibility more intricately. Be sure to select a pet for your lifestyle, if you are very active, an active dog requiring lots of walking is perfect, alternatively, if you are a sofa kind of person, a Border Collie requiring lots of exercise is not going to be a suitable match. We rarely have a reliable history of the animals that come to us. The suggested breeds & ages are stated in good faith and based on our experience. Similarly, most dogs arrive without a name tag so they're given temporary names. Feel free to choose a new name & see how quickly your pet adapts!
