📣PARVO WARNING📣

It’s been an confronting weekend for our inspectors, with seven puppies and an adult dog succumbing to the deadly parvovirus.

RSPCA WA is urging owners to please check their dogs are vaccinated, and that boosters are up to date. If cost is a concern, ask your vet about a payment plan.

The cases this weekend bring the total number of deaths in December so far to a heartbreaking 17 – and those are just the ones we know about!

Reports to RSPCA WA in recent weeks have come from Cannington, Waikiki, Medina and Geraldton. Parvo is highly contagious and can stay on surfaces, and in environments, for months on end.
