Our next fun day is Sunday 4th June.

This allows us to see if we have enough numbers to run the day and allows time for the court to be set up.

Interest in Cowboy Dressage Fun Days at Allora

Hi Everyone,

We are hoping to gain everyone's interest in continuing in Cowboy Dressage Fun Days at Allora.

Our next date is Sunday 4 June. Our last couple of days have had few riders, and as it is run/organised on a volunteer basis, we need to know if you are attending and interested in continuing with CD. Alternatively, we may need to consider taking a break for a while.

Link for 2023 Allora show society equestrian membership. This is a requirement for our group to use the Allora grounds.

Have you got your show membership ready because the Allora Show is only 27 days away ‼️

A family membership could save you LOADS of entry fees into the show over the 2 days and you do not want to miss out, this years show is better than ever !!!

We have all the regular activities throughout the two days, the main ring will be filled with Horses 🐴 , the cattle 🐄 will be out and about as will the sheep 🐑, goats 🐐 and of course the dogs 🐩.

Friday night we have the Bull ride under the roof of the indoor, we have a wonderful band playing and the bar is open until midnight.

Saturday night we have the Demolition derby 🚗 and loads more ring activities, lots of fun for everyone, come and be part of the fun.

Fun day had by all today out of the rain in the awesome Allora Showgrounds indoor arena. Last fun day for 2022 is the 6th November.

We have the undercover arena tomorrow so rain will not be an issue. Only a small group of riders tomorrow so parking should be fine also. Entry via the back gate please. See you there!

“The shoulder-in prepares a horse to be put on its haunches, because with each step taken in this posture it carries the inside hind leg forwards under the belly and brings it over to the outside hind leg, which it can do only by lowering the haunch: it is thus always on one haunch in one direction, and on the other haunch in the other direction, and learns in consequence to bend its hocks under itself; this is what is called being on the haunches.”

Shoulder-In Left - The horse is slightly bent around the inside leg of the rider. The horse’s inside foreleg passes and crosses in front of the outside foreleg; the inside hind leg is placed in the same track as the outside foreleg. The horse is looking away from the direction in which he is moving. The horse move his inside hind leg underneath his body.
The outside hind leg does not step away from the original track. The horse will travel on 3 tracks; 1st track: inside foreleg, 2nd track: inside hind leg with outside foreleg, 3rd track: outside hind leg.
