Tick Alert!
We have already seen a few tick cases this week. Ticks are active! If you havnt got your pet on tick prevention please start asap! Regular use of a tick preventative product is a critical step in protecting your pet against deadly paralysis ticks.
If you need help selecting a tick preventative please phone the clinic on 66 285262.
There are top spots, chews and now a new yearly injection to protect your pets.

Just a reminder. Signs of tick paralysis are-
- Loss of coordination, wobbly
- Difficulty standing
- Laboured or rapid breathing
- Change or loss of voice (meow or bark)
- Groaning
- Coughing
- Gagging and vomiting
- Loss of appetite
- Cannot blink
- Appears generally unwell
If you find a tick on your pet, remove straight away. Keep the tick in a zip lock bag or container so you can show your vet. Call the clinic to get advice. If after hours still call the clinic and you will be directed to the on call/emergency vet.

Hello!

I’m Alfie, a charming 10-year-old labradoodle with a rich chocolate coat that becomes a beautiful ombre when it’s long. My Mum says I’m the very definition of loyalty and affection—always eager to make my humans happy and devoted to them. My eyes are sure to melt your heart!

Even though I’m a bit older, I still have plenty of energy and enjoy walks on my lead around familiar places. I love water and the ocean, though I haven’t had as many opportunities to visit as Mum would like because I’m a bit anxious and need some encouragement to get in the car.

I can be a bit nervous when meeting new people, but I warm up quickly. I might bark a little as a friendly hello, but soon enough, I’ll be looking for back scratches, belly rubs, and offering my affectionate paw.

I’ve always struggled with anxiety—please don’t judge me! My breeders mentioned it early on, but Mum chose to take me in anyway.

I’m a healthy, well-maintained gentleman with all my vaccinations, tick and worm treatments up to date. I’m also desexed and microchipped.

Rehoming me has been a tough decision for my family, who love me dearly. Unfortunately, I no longer get along with my brother. I’m hopeful to find a new, loving home where I can share all my loyalty and cuddles!

NALA desperately needs a home; She has been in rescue care for over 3 years.
She is 6 years old, desexed, microchipped. Her breed is Husky x German Shepherd.
She does need a 6ft fence and is NOT SUITABLE to be with cats and small dogs
Nala adores all people but does look and sound the part to be an ideal guard dog in a mechanics workshop, car yard or other fenced area where she can watch over your goods at night then go on a long rope and assist you and your staff during the day, this would be her ideal position. Nala will deter all those undesirable people that think your possessions should be theirs.

Northern Rivers Animal Services Inc - NRAS are holding an adoption day Saturday 6th July.
Please find the information below if you're interested-

SATURDAY 6 JULY is set to be a bumper Adoption Day at the NRAS Rescue Shelter, 61 Piper Drive, Ballina.

We currently have a huge number of animals in care, including adorable kittens and puppies, lots of lovely cats and some beautiful adult dogs.

Given the variety of animals in care, there will be something for everyone.

As well as our beautiful animals the $10 dog washing, nail clipping and microchipping services will also be available.

There will be a new supply of NRAS merchandise, including dog coats & bandanas, plus our BBQ and the very popular coffee and chai stall.

Everyone is welcome from 10:00am to 1:00pm.


All animals in NRAS’ care are vet checked, flea & worm treated, microchipped, vaccinated and desexed prior to adoption.

Unfortunately one of our clients circumstance's have changed and they can no longer provide a loving home for the following two cats.

Pixie (Tabby and white)
Female, desexed, microchipped, 15yrs old and up to date with vaccinations.
Can be shy of strangers but does come around. Will let you pick her up when she knows you. Loves sleeping under covers in winter, always has. Feel secure in the comfort of her own garden, not interested in venturing out. Favourite place to nap is on the deck.

Pasha (Grey)
Female, desexed, microchipped, 10yrs old and up to date with vaccinations.
Loves fresh water straight from a tap. Loves to kiss especially when you’re trying to clean your teeth. Thinks dog beds are better than cat beds, loves stretching out.

Both love tuna. 😀

Can be rehomed to separate homes.

I have a PLUM-HEADED PARAKEET turn up and living in My tree. She has a ring on her leg and I've tried to find the owner but nothing. I'm worried that she won't survive. She seems healthy and im feeding her fruit and vegetables and seed. I've tried to get close but just not close enough to catch her and wondering is there anyone that could help 🙏. I'm in Alstonville

UPDATE: Milo has found a wonderful new loving home, thanks to the enquires, gratefully Milo is now unavailable:)

Meet Milo he is a sweet natured ragdoll cat, desexed male who sadly lost his elderly owner recently. Milo is currently being cared for by foster carers who say he is friendly with other cats , gentle with children, although he is not fond of being picked up and carted around like a baby! Milo is microchipped and up to date with his vaccinations and Bravecto Plus his flea tick and worming treatment.

UPDATE- We have been inundated with phone calls about Barney. Popular boy! We will now stop taking calls for Barney as he will be having some meet and greets and possibly a trial at a new home. Thank you to everyone sharing and calling. We wish Barney all the best 🐾

Meet Barney, a 22mth old male desexed and microchipped friendly golden retriever, good with kids and other dogs, walks on lead without pulling he is looking for his furever home. Reluctantly and with great sadness, due to lifestyle and work commitments Barneys current owners are no longer able to give Barney the time and love he deserves. They would ideally like him placed in a loving home with a good size yard, someone special to give him time and exercise and love.

ROADWORKS starting tomorrow 29th Feb in Daley street.
We will still be open 8.30-5pm (closing at lunch 1.15-2pm) Monday to Friday.
Unfortunately roadworks will be commencing in our street starting tomorrow Thursday 29th Feb. This will cause some disruption as parking and accessing our car park will be an issue. We’re sorry for any inconvenience but unfortunately it’s out of our hands. If you have an appointment coming up best plan ahead and come by a little earlier to find parking. Hopefully they get it done quickly 😊🐾

😊 We have always focused on classes BUT we see that some dogs and owners need a bit more.

😀 Think of this new service, stay and train, as a hybrid day care with training.
We pick up your dog, train them in town and at our facility then drop them back home! For a full day of learning and fun. Perfect for dogs needing that little bit of help with obedience, manners, socialisation or just needing some more enrichment.
