Colac horse trials 2023
Super fun and relaxed weekend with B1, Bec Brammer, we had every weather event possible including an earthquake…. Which I slept straight through

Coldstream Ursula stepped back up to EA 80
Ever so consistent jumped a double clear only adding 0.8 time faults to her score,
Pretty good to make up time after giving the jump judges a show between fence 1 and 2 🤦‍♀️

High expectations for Frankie since he has been schooling so well at home, but got to the event and it all fell apart
Uncharacteristically tense in the dressage, and a stop on cross country has left me a little frustrated, we have schooled step drops so much so it was a bit sh*tty to have a stop at the steps, but he did a fantastic show jumping round, so at least there is some improvement there

Thank you to the amazing committee who did a flawless job of hosting a massive event of 560 riders! That’s insane! Everything ran without a hitch and didn’t the weather put on a show!

I am looking for an experienced and competitive competition home for this EXTREMELY talented horse
This probably a limited time offer- but I feel Val’s true calling lies in show jumping and my heart belongs to eventing

Val is a 9yrs 16.1hh OTT thoroughbred

Valentine can seriously jump! He has the most scope I have ever sat on, it is incredible, I would love to see a showjumping rider take him to ott classes and show jump
Val is lovely and kind, he is sweet and loves attention, he stands tied to the float and is excellent to handle in every way

He has jumped courses of 1m and grids exceeding that, he has been out to 3 competitions, he can get tense at comps but is getting better every outing and warms out of it quickly- and only for dressage, no tension when he knows he’s jumping 🤣

he will lift a hind leg when doing back straps of a rug, and has been known to kick when he was racing- has not tried to kick since retired but does give warnings
He is great to catch/ shoe/ wash/ clip/ worm/ needle
Currently clipped and barefoot
I have owned this horse since he retired from racing in December 2021 and followed his racing journey very closely, he means a great deal to me and it breaks my heart to advertise him
He is well educated on the flat, a simple snaffle bit mouth, he can be lazy and get behind the leg so I ride with spurs and a whip

He did retire with a tendon injury but was rehabilitated and spelled for 12 months before commencing retraining and currently has a splint which has healed, vet checks are welcome

Pro tip! Keep your supplement buckets and lids! They make excellent buckets for feeds! All of mine are labelled with the horses name so I know who’s is who, they neatly stack behind the door and the lids are airtight keeping out mice, rats, dust, dogs and cheeky ponies who wander the property! And you can stack them without getting feed stuck to the bottom of the bucket on top! Kelato Animal Health

Before I started using Kelato’s brilliant product GastroAID Recovery, I was having performance issues with my young horse. He was very grumpy about being girthed up and reluctant to go forward, swishing his tail and putting his ears back. On top of this, he started to jump flat and knock rails where previously he was scopey and loved jumping.
After ruling out countless physical reasons for this change including dental, saddle fit, massage, chiropractor, feet, lameness etc, we came to the conclusion that he had Gastric Ulcers. With all my research into gut supplements and ulcer treatments and following vets’ advice, I opted to try him on GastroAID Recovery in conjunction with his ulcer treatment. Having ‘alkaline slime’ in the ingredients and being a proven aid in creating an environment to help support the healing of gastric ulcers, I knew that GastroAID Recovery was my only choice to help my horse.
Just a few days after starting him on GastroAID Recovery, I noticed immediate changes in Frankie. His stools were firmer, and he started to soften in his work. After six weeks of supplements, we ventured to Melbourne International 3DE to compete in the Young Event Horse classes. With the help of Kelato’s GastroAID Recovery Frankie was feeling better than ever and we managed to win the 5-Year-Old class and Champion of Champions.
The addition of this supplement has helped improve symptoms in my horse I hadn’t even realised had deteriorated. Following on from his initial supplementation, I now maintain his condition and gut health with GastroAID Everyday, and in times of stress, such as long travel or trips away competing, I will add GastroAID Recovery into his feeds to help ensure we never have gastric ulcers again! It has become a staple for all new horses, particularly all new horses coming off the track and they will be started on GastroAID Recovery when they first commence retraining helping to rule out any gut health issues and give them the best chance of successfully being retrained!
I highly recommend both GastroAID products, especially to those who have sensitive horses or are having difficulty with their progress or weight gain.

Good ponies this weekend!
Frankie had a few cobwebs on day 1 and finished 1st and 4th with reserve jackpot,
Day 2 was much more refined for 1st and 2nd and jackpot champion in level 3, time for level 2!

My little rescue Oscar was very brave to go on the float to the event…. Loved it so much he didn’t want to load to come home! Oops!
A few moments of anxiety in the warm up before producing 2 lovely tests for 3rd and 9th, 7th overall
And day 2 he realised life was pretty cruisey and was an absolute star!
Again producing 2 lovely tests getting better everytime he entered the arena. Also getting a 3rd today and just missing out on his second ribbon for 7th and 5th overall! Proud mumma!
