Can you imagine a world where food is produced with respect for people, animals, and the planet? Is it possible to envision a sustainable alternative to our current industrial food production system, which contributes to biodiversity loss, increases social inequalities, and threatens our well-being?

The industrial food system has long prioritized profit over health and the environment. However, farmers—often the most affected by these challenges—have the power to reshape the future through collective action: the agroecological transition.

Slow Food unites those who believe in this change, from farmers to food artisans and conscious consumers. That’s why we are launching Slow Food Farms, a new global network of farms dedicated to producing good, clean, and fair food rooted in agroecological principles.

Slow Food Farms embody agroecology in action. They are at the forefront of the agroecological transition, working to reshape the future of food systems by promoting sustainability and resilience.

What is a Slow Food Farm?

A Slow Food Farm follows the principles of agroecology, growing crops or raising animals with respect for the environment, biodiversity, and local communities. These farms are central to resilient local food systems, ensuring farmers are fairly compensated while strengthening local economies.

Our 3 early peaches have now formed fruits and so I netted them today for fruit fly protection. It looks like a good year this year. The last couple of years were pretty poor with wet weather at the wrong time leaving the fruit go mouldy and last year with the death of our bees and so a lack of pollinators. There has been an abundance of pollinators so far this year. Fingers crossed for a bumper crop.
