Flying High Bird Sanctuary is Australia's largest walk through Aviary. Our aviary covers nearly two acres and reaches a height of over 7 metres! Walk the 400 metre track through rainforest gardens while Australian native, Asiatic and South American birds fly overhead and feed on the feed tables in front of you. The Owl enclosure is an exciting new development now open and you are able to walk with

our Kangaroos and Emus. We offer a safe sanctuary for surrendered birds as well as caring for sick and injured wildlife.

💔 URGENT WE NEED YOUR HELP! PLEASE SHARE 💔

We have just been advised that there is family needing our urgent help! This family has been abandoned on a property and the owner is no longer coming back for them.

We have a kind man feeding them but they cannot stay where they are for much longer.

Mum is very young and extremely emaciated, the 7 puppies are also underweight but doing a bit better than mum. She is struggling to feed them as she is so frail.

The mum and puppies need a carer together as pups are still very young. Dad can go to the same carer or separate, ideally if possible we would like to keep them together as the mum gets upset if he leaves.

If you are unable to foster please consider donating towards their care

You can donate via our website or bank details below

Holidays are here again, bring the family and check out our fantastic birds and animals. Bring your own picnic and watch the kangaroos, emus and cassowary as you eat. But please do not bring avocado in here as it can kill birds.

A photo of David, the owner of the Sanctuary, at home trying to relax and watch TV. The Eclectus has other ideas though, he wants to play, not watch TV. The other photo shows David tying a ribbon around one of my teddies for me, a very obliging husband. Come and meet David and have a macaw experience with him.

Our birds were not to sure of what this monster was when it arrived on their food table. It didn't take long for one adventurous bird to bite it and found out how yummy it was. some of the birds were not convinced and wouldn't go near it.
Lots of other funny things happen here at the Sanctuary so come and visit us soon.

Here are some more members of our family that reside at the Sanctuary. Chloe, our German Shepherd dog and her brother Thomas, the p***y cat. (Tommy is scared of birds !!) We also have Rosie, the Galah and Dexter the Quaker. Bluebell, the blue Quaker and Stanley, the green Quaker, built a huge nest and laid eggs. Unfortunately Bluebell became very sick just as she started sitting on her eggs. Stanley sat on them for a while but sadly no babies survived. They are now making their nest even bigger so maybe the next lot of eggs will hatch successfully.

Have a look at these gorgeous birds, if you come to see our Sanctuary and arrive by 0930, you will be able to watch the morning feeding. The table is usually covered in birds from tiny finches up to Eclectus parrots. They all share the food and mostly get on very well. The feeding is really worth seeing.
