1st July wraps up the first month of our Senior Pet Winter Promotion ❄️ So far the team have helped screen 41 senior pets for common age related health concerns! 🩵🐾

Get to know our Veterinary Director, Lauren McConnell 🐾
Brisbane born and raised, Lauren graduated with honours from the University of Queensland in 2004. She enjoys all aspects of Veterinary Medicine, her particular interests being cardiology, diabetes, ultrasound and rehabilitation of injured and aged dogs. Lauren is accredited to assist with exporting pets overseas including health checks, vaccinations, bloods tests, and parasite treatments. Outside of work Lauren enjoys basketball, crossfit, running and hiking. She has a one legged peachface named Sparrow and an endlessly energetic Border Collie named Arthur.

Dr. Helen Byrnes, Owner/Director (Pictured far left)
Helen is the energetic and enthusiastic owner of the Vetkind group of practices. Before purchasing the Arana Hills practice, Helen worked in other private practices throughout Australia and for the University of Queensland. Helen has a long-time commitment to volunteering in India and other countries with Vets Beyond Borders. Helen was awarded the David Bayvel Memorial Award for Excellence in Animal Welfare in 2016 in recognition of her work in improving animal welfare in India and other countries.

We want to say a HUGE thank you to those of you who came to support us on our Open Day on Wednesday April 10th last week.
We had some amazing owners and pets visit and we are so grateful to be part of this amazing community.

This little kitten has been handed into our Arana Hills Vet Clinic. Safe however certainly would be missing his owners. Unfortunately there is no microchip 😞. If anyone recognises this beautiful boy please contact us! Proof of ownership will be required!
If we do not hear from the owners by 10am tomorrow, we’ll have to contact the local council.

🎄🐾 Important Holiday Reminder! 🐾🎄

As the festive season approaches, we want to remind all pet parents that Vetkind will be closed over Christmas. 🎅✨ To ensure your furry friends stay happy and healthy during the break, please take a moment to:

1️⃣ Check Medication Supplies: Ensure your pets have enough medication to last through the holiday period. If they're due for a refill, please contact us before our holiday closure.

2️⃣ Stay Up-to-Date: Schedule any necessary appointments or six-monthly health reviews in advance to avoid any disruptions in your pet's care.

Remember, our clinics require a MINIMUM of 48hrs notice for medication requests, and depending on the medication (or food) needed, we may have to place a special order with our suppliers, which could add up to a week's wait time. ⏰ We appreciate your proactive approach to your pet's well-being. If you have any questions or need assistance, feel free to reach out. Wishing you and your pets a joyous and safe holiday season! 🐶🐱🎁

🚨We have had this lovely female cat handed into our Arana Hills Vet Clinic. 🚨

She is microchipped however the details are not up to date and we cannot get a hold of an owner! She was found on Leslie street, Arana Hills, if you recognise this friendly cat please reach out to us 07 3851 1366! Proof of ownership will be required.

Please note that if we do not hear from the owners by 1pm we will have to contact the council to ensure this pet gets the ongoing attention and care she deserves.

As we come into the season where some of us begin to put up the xmas tree.

Please consider if you have pets in the home, to check what sort of presents are being put under the tree!

Chocolate, mince pies, xmas pudding etc..... All of these foods taste good to us but for animals they are filled with toxic foods.

If you receive gifts and put them under your tree for the big day, please check if they are food and secure them away from your pets. Please don't put them under the xmas tree.

If your animal ingests these items, please do not wait to call the vet. It can be important to have them seen to as soon as practical.
