In November 2024, Scott de Bruin was awarded Honorary Life Membership by the Australian Wagyu Association! 🎉🐂

Scott has been a true pioneer in the Australian Wagyu industry, leading the way with innovation and excellence. There are up to 466 herds which have registered over 32,000 animals with at least one grandparent with the Mayura prefix. He freely provided the IP for AWA’s EBVs, indexes, single-step genomics, fatty acid profiles, and feeder check data. As Mayura Station principal, he has shaped the industry since importing the first fullblood Wagyu in 1998. His tenure as AWA President (2013–2015) and ongoing contributions have left a lasting impact.
