Many dogs suffer from anxiety when being left alone at home, riding in the car, or going to the vet.
While catnip acts as a stimulant in cats, it typically acts as a sedative in most dogs.

That is why we use it in our Calm Support catnip is one of our main ingredients due to it's calming effect on most dogs.
Catnip can also prevent fleas and mosquitos from bothering both your dogs and cats, keeping your pets happy and healthy.

The weather is warming up here in Victoria, so we at Beggin' for a Bite have a cheap DIY edible kong idea to keep your pupper entertained outside.

1.Get any apple and take out the core.

2.Then get your peanut butter
(making sure it does not contain Xylitol as it is toxic to dog's and cat's it is also known as wood sugar, birch sugar, and birch bark extract)

3. Start filling the hole you can plug up one end with peanutbutter then add what ever you want or simply just fill it with peanutbutter.

4.What you want to do next is freeze it overnight and the next day your pupper has a tasty frozen treat to keep them entertained for awhile.

Along with oats, bananas are a key ingredient we use at Beggin' for a bite as a replacement for eggs as they contain Magnesium, Biotin (a nutrient that promotes healthy skin and coat), Vitamins C and B6 they are just a few of the helpful nutrients your dog needs to support a healthy immune system. Aside from these nutrients, the most valuable benefits brought by bananas in dogs reside in their fiber and potassium levels.

Oats play a big part in our baked treats, due to the nutritional benefits for both dogs and cats.

Compared to other types of grains, oats are relatively high in protein and fat.
The protein quality is high in oats, meaning that a dog or cat’s body can digest and use them, oats also provide a good balance of amino acids and they also contain a lot of fiber, antioxidants, vitamins and minerals (including vitamins B and E, zinc, iron, and selenium) all of which play an important role in maintaining or improving health.
Many of the antioxidants that oats contain, such as linoleic acid and vitamin E, can supplement your pet’s liver, skin, fur, etc.
