Our retirement herd is looking great as we head in to the coldest part of winter πŸ₯Ά

Minimal rugs, minimal feeds, plenty of treats and 15 acres of paddocks to rotate through, what more could you ask for!

I'm so very thankful to have such great agistees (and the hubby as well!) to enjoy this journey with, it certainly wouldn't be the same without you all πŸ’™

After a health scare last year, we weren't sure if she would get another birthday post, but how lucky we are to wish Spud a happy 15th birthday! πŸ₯³

Days often spent snoozing in a sunny window, usually only coming outside to execute the infamous "Spud Check" (locating Ash), to then trot back inside and get back to some more napping, what a life πŸ’™

Who needs the gym when you have a farm!

Spent the afternoon spreading out the remains of some round bales to help with a struggling paddock. This provides the top soil protection from wind and rain, as well as spreading seed and keeping precious moisture in the ground.

Looking forward to seeing how this paddock looks in 6 months time!

Another year done and dusted! 2 years since we moved in, and how the farm has changed! 5 extra paddocks added, countless amounts of hours spraying, slashing and chainsawing, new clients welcomed and new friendships made.

I cannot thank our wonderful clients enough for their support over the past year, and we can't wait to see what the next year brings!

What a life 😍

How good are the paddocks looking with all the spring grass coming through?!

We take great pride in looking after our paddocks with our spraying and rotation schedule, and it's just one of the perks our amazing clients and their horses get to enjoy here 🌱🐴

A change of pace for me last night, and a return to my favourite part of horses 😍

I was asked to cover a foaling shift at a local farm and welcomed this lovely filly out of a first time mum.

I've spent most of my career foaling, both in Australia and overseas, so I was very happy to get my foaling fix in for this year!

My pride and joy - Zafia - is 14, I've had him for 8 years and known him since he was a yearling 😍

Our largest resident, Ty, has recently started taking steps to retire. After having been in a private paddock for a lot of his ridden career, we couldn't just throw him in the deep end by adding him to an established herd. So my trusty gelding, Zafy, has taken Ty under his wing and has been introducing him to the retired life.
Looks like we might have a new bromance forming πŸ’™

The consistent rain has made it hard to get anything done, so jumped at the chance to get 5 paddocks sprayed yesterday!

No rest for the wicked!

Between the wombats and the rain, we have a few of major repairs to catch up on now that everything has dried out! I think, just quietly, that James is a tad excited to have the big toys to play with over the Christmas break πŸ‘·πŸ˜‰

Hoping everyone had a great Christmas, and even better New Year to come πŸŽ„πŸŽ‰

Something a little different here at RC Agistment!

We have had Sugar the brumby here for the last 2 months to rehab some pelvic instability. Working together with our osteo, and specifically picking a paddock on an incline, we have been able to send Suagr home a much happier and stronger pony. We also took on the task of some handling and education, including float training, ready for her to take the next step in her education.

Thanks Jenny for the lovely review πŸ₯°
