About Andrea:

I always loved dogs, I guess, from the moment I started walking. And I started training dogs as a teenager overseas. When I first joined the local club in Cairns I had a bullterrier, Luna. Both of us started to learn the way obedience is done here and we were able to compete in obedience, rally and agility. After looking for some time to find the right dog for me, I settled on a Malinois, Shelby.
Shelby and I gained many dog sports titles, and were able to achieve the pinnacle in the sport, Obedience Grand Champion and Rally Champion. Along the way we gained multiple State and National Obedience titles. Shelby won the annual award for best obedience dog in Queensland. Her incredible work ethics made her win 5 perfect scores of 200 within one year in CDX obedience. She is a once in a lifetime dog. What astounded me was, when I went to compete in Brisbane where people did not know me, they always lined to ring to watch us both. They loved her work, loved her attitude and I loved her smile.
Training with Malinois is not for the faint hearted and I wanted to make sure I could be the best handler for my dogs. I always had a picture in my head of how I wanted my work to look like โ€“ motivated, precise and fun.
I attended workshops all over the country and overseas to learn, learn, learn. I have attended seminars with Susan Garrett, Ivan Balabanov, Michael Ellis, Forrest Micke, Peter and Connie Scherk, Mia Skogster, Josh Moran and Simone Holdensgaard.
Apart from striving to be a perfect competitor, I also love to work with like-minded handlers and share my passion, my knowledge and my skills.

๐Ÿ“ข Attention Triallers ๐Ÿ“ข Not long now until our last trial of the year! We can't wait ๐Ÿคฉ The current weather forecast is for possible showers Friday afternoon and for high temps of 29ยฐ/30ยฐ Saturday and Sunday. Please keep your dogs cool and hydrated. We will have a hose and clamshell available beside the clubhouse. Please get in and help with bars/course changes so we can hopefully break by the hottest part of the day ๐Ÿ™
Parking - Please do not park or camp under the SES shed veranda and leave plenty of room for them to get large trailers out. They need to be able to access this at any time in case of an emergency.
Best of luck to everyone and have fun!! ๐Ÿถ

Tableland Dog Obedience Club Inc.

Tableland Dog Obedience Club was founded in June 1990 and has been going strong ever since. we are situated on the Atherton Tablelands, west of Cairns and we train every Wednesday evening throughout the year. The cost is $35.00 per year plus $5.00 training fees per night. Classes 1, 2 and 3 will commence at 7 pm and go until 8 pm. Advanced class (classes 4 and 5) will commence at 6:00pm and run until 7:00pm. These amendments to our structure are to accommodate an increase in member numbers. We apologise for any inconvenience, but Tableland Dog Obedience is very excited that our club is growing in strength, and that the members of the new Advanced group will be receiving more individualised attention and exposure to more advanced training techniques. Dogs must be 3 months + the new intake is the first Wednesday of every month.
