Love the journey with our newcomers as they go from scruffy babies in the paddock to learning the ropes as saddle ponies.

This one is particularly rewarding. It’s taken a long time to earn his trust and he challenges us all the time, but he’s such an honest pony who just wants to do his job. You never stop learning when it comes to training horses. This boy is teaching us as much as we are teaching him.

Slowly starting to see a lovely saddle pony emerging.

That’s a wrap for a very long, very successful first show season for Charlee and Flirty.

So much learnt, endless hours in the saddle and at the stables, thousands of kms travelled, unforgettable memories made and an un breakable partnership formed.

We had zero intention of ever buying a hack, but the universe had other ideas and it has been the best decision we have made.

This beautiful mare is smart, trainable and honest, with just the right amount of sass to keep Charlee thinking and bettering herself as a horse woman.

We have had the best time away at Bathurst Royal. Time for the long journey home tomorrow and back to working the breakers next week 🦄

Flirty won her led mare over 15hh and reserve led hack this morning. She was her usual reliable self in the child’s but not the judges choice. We opted to scratch the open hack this afternoon after what has been a super show.

Bathurst Royal 2025

A fabulous first day of competition for Charlee and MT Flirt in what proved to be a rather electric environment for many horses.

Charlee is becoming a more active, thoughtful rider and guided her young TB through lots if challenging moments to produce some really lovely work. The bows were a bonus.

* 2nd Ridden TB Mare
* 3rd Led TB Mare
* 3rd Novice Hack 15.2 - 16hh
* 5th Novice Rider 13 to 17 years
* 3rd Fashions on the Field

Charlee has been so excited for her first Fashions on the Field event and has been busily sorting her outfit for months.

Such a well supported show with plenty of entries across a large number of rings.
