Megs Hopman, founder, has a work history in both the disability sector and human behaviour, as well as a complete understanding of dogs. She is university qualified to manage and deliver an exceptional service. This business is unique in that it focuses on dog training as well as empowering and educating dog parents. The business understands that everyone has an individual journey with their dog a

nd adapts their services accordingly. Playful Paws is the ‘go to’ for dog training and behaviour in East Gippsland, with people proud to say their dogs have been trained with them. The business has continued to adapt and evolve through consultation with the community which has contributed to rapid growth of the business. Bowser took a break from his first Puppy Pre-school class to pose for the camera!

Preschool is run in a disinfected and safe area for pups 8-14 weeks (before they are fully vaccinated). Over the 4 week course we give you the skills to teach your pup and help them to be calm and well mannered enough to take anywhere.

What a beautiful girl. Bella’s first day in Puppy Kinder.

Bella is coming to Puppy Kinder to build her confidence with new experiences and new dogs.

Megs is just hanging with Bella in one of our training area, allowing her to make decisions and choose when she is ready to explore. She eventually opted to lay and watch! By the end of her day she was comfortable with calm interactions with little dogs.

All the dogs that visit Playful Paws have an initial assessment to build their confidence and relationship with the staff as well as understanding their temperament to match them in with potential new best friends.

Puppy Kinder runs
Mon and Tues 7am - 530
Weds - Fri 730-530.

Happy birthday to the best boy that started it all!

Buddy turned 14 last week! His sweet, gentle personality and anxiety around new dogs taught me took look further than traditional methods of training. He sparked my love of dog psychology and embarked my journey on helping people and their dogs have a better relationship with more understanding and connection.

When Buddy didn’t fit the traditional style of classes, we created our own! Playful Paws model is based around dogs like Buddy, who may not fit the typical training model.

Over the past 11(!) years Playful Paws has grown to help more people than we ever could of imagined.

Thank you all for your continued support in creating a positive community.

We provide different fun options for training your best friend.

Dream of having a dog that you can take anywhere, meet visitors nicely and settle at a cafe? We can teach you to teach your dog these skills in different classes. Or we help kickstart their training with our Puppy Kinder and Funday options.
