Puskali is a very special boy because........All calico cats are female. Well Almost all calico (and tortoiseshell) cats are female, but not quite. According to Veterinarypartner.com About one in every 3,000 calico cats is male, with an extra X chromosome -- XXY instead of the XY of a normal male. In most cases the male tortie is sterile because of the inbalance in XY chromosomes. So there you have it!!!!

Charity Alert 🚨
Casey & I are going to climb 🧗 Everest Base Camp 18th October next year! Every month leading up to October we will be climbing a mountain. We are raising funds for the KAT (Kathmandu animal treatment) Centre.
What sparked this? Well right now in Nepal there is a terrible terrible tradition held at the Gadhimai temple just 2hrs from Kathmandu whereby every 5 yrs they sacrifice thousands and thousands of animals for a religion. When I found out about this I was absolutely devastated as I had no idea this horrific practice took place specially in this day and age!!!! We felt helpless what could we do??? We felt we needed to do something given were already committed to this challenging amazing hike. So I reached out to the International Humane Society whom I donate to regularly and they put us onto the KAT centre. We can’t change this practice overnight but we can go there and help change the lives of the many cats, dogs, cattle and other beautiful beings struggling on the streets of Nepal 🇳🇵. Not only are we going to raise funds till October next year we are going to offer some volunteer work at the centre post our incredible hike and meet and help many animals.

Kathmandu Animal Treatment Centre of Nepal (KAT Centre Nepal) was established in 2004 by Jan Salter.
Providing humane animal birth control to street dogs, education, awareness, and prevention of Rabies
Medical treatment to those that are sick and injured
Education to the public
Animal adoptions
KAT Centre Nepal receives no federal funding and is entirely funded by grants and private donations.

Cats are frequently overlooked in the Kathmandu valley due to the considerable number of street dogs Since the establishment of KAT Centre Nepal, they have been active in cat treatment, care, and adoption.
KAT’s Cat House:
The Cat House facility is specifically designed to manage cats, so they have a safe place to play, sleep and live. In Nepal, nothing like this has ever been seen before.

Casey and I can’t wait to embark on this journey and climb some mountains raising funds for KAT Centre 🐾🇳🇵🐾
