News: Miss Roumbini Storms to Victory in Fillies & Mares

A roller-coaster week on the Gold Coast culminated with a satisfying win for Victorian horseman Mick Price (Price Kent Racing), whose emerging filly Miss Roumbini landed the rich prize in Friday night’s $1 million TAB Magic Millions Fillies and Mares.

Price, with co-trainer Michael Kent Jnr, was involved in the purchase of 16 yearlings in Book 1 of the 2025 Magic Millions Yearling Sale but was then forced to watch on as his exciting c**t Space Rider twice missed a start as first emergency in the $3 million Magic Millions 2YO Classic – once last Saturday before the race meeting was called off and then again on Friday night’s rescheduled program under lights. When a client wants to visit their quarter horse and needs room to land their Helicopter we always accomodate. Thank you to our neighbours for allowing this so it didn’t upset any horses. Was surprising quiet. Lucky Harry 🐴🚁

Today we had a trainer drive 2.5 hrs just to visit her horse, tears were shed by both her and myself the minute she spotted her boy ! Days like today are the reason we do what we do, First and foremost we LOVE HORSES. 💗🏇 🥕🥕
Whilst we do restrict some visitors as there just aren’t enough hours in the day for everyone to visit their horses every day visits like this remind us how special horses are.

Dowling View Equine Centre is looking for an outstanding experienced person to join our team on a regular basis. Casual position
This position is split shift 7:30-12:30 2:45-4:45 some week days and approx every second weekend at similar hours , weekends are non negotiable it is a predominantly weekend position with other weekday shifts possible
The role includes feeding and checking horses cleaning stables and yards and assisting vets etc as required , working independantly and as part of a team with confidant horse handling a must and being able to identify injury and illness

Leg wound update

Thank you to all my staff for helping me care for so many precious horses over the past 12 months , we will all be here working over the holiday period keeping them all safe and well.

The progress of this large leg wound , photos are all approx a week apart the original sutures only held for about 7 days which was more than expected as they were under a lot of tension,
No veterinary intervention during the process , we used the amazing vicsopaste bandage product and it had amazing results.

POSITION VACANT
After 2 years here with us Ellie has decided on a new career path and that leaves Dowling View Equine Centre looking for a new staff member to join it's small team !
The position is FULL TIME 38 hours per week, hours are 7:30 - 2:30 Monday and Friday and 7:30 - 4:45 Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (days and hours negotiable to the right applicant)
We are looking for someone with horse handling skills and preference to someone who has worked in racing or a vet clinic.
the role consists of general stable hand duties but not limited to
feeding and checking horses with a HIGH ATTENTION TO DETAIL
medicating horses, recognising sickness and injuries
cleaning stables and yards, filling waters
treadmill exercise of horses (training provided)
assisting farriers, vets and alike.
