Ballina Jockey Club Director Phil Meehan recently visited the National Stud in Ireland and had the privilege of viewing Champion Stallion Invincible Spirit. 🌟
At 27 years old, Invincible Spirit is in magnificent condition and still producing new foals. This legendary racehorse and sire once shuttled to Australia, where he sired I Am Invincible, now one of our champion Australian sires with a service fee of $247,500. 🐎

BREAKING NEWS!!!! Lismore's Christmas Cup EVENT has been CANCELLED and has been transferred to BALLINA!! This race meeting is this FRIDAY, the 16th of December 2022!!! It's good news for local punters... and Lismore is welcome to come! A great day of racing is expected with extra Christmas party room! All entry through the gates is FREE!! Yes, it's FREE!!!! The Lismore Turf Club had to cancel the Christmas Cup – Friday 16th December because the Winter grass the club sowed after the floods has died off, and the Summer grass we sowed in early November is not yet up to Racing Quality. Racing NSW Stewards decided to move the Race Meeting to Ballina Jockey Club last Friday and the Ballina Jockey Club is doing everything to assist the Lismore punters and their parties to a great day of racing -- and Christmas partying!!! Additionally, the Lismore Turf Club has organised with the Ballina Jockey Club to accept your entry to the Ballina track for FREE! Did you know, one of the unique features of the Ballina Jockey Club includes unlimited parking and privacy for your function, which sets us apart from other venues? Because the club is not open to the public, you get exclusive use of all facilities for the duration of your function. This includes all the seating, (tables, chairs, whiteboard, screens) bar staff, PA system, dance floor etc. Special equipment such as round tables and table clothes, chair covers and so on can be provided at a hire fee or supplied by you. Cleaning after the event is included in the hire fee. We can provide a full range of catering from snacks for seminars to plated meals and buffets! Ballina Sunday (2 October) Transferred To Grafton Racing NSW advise the Ballina race meeting scheduled for Sunday, 2nd October 2022 has been transferred and will be conducted at the Grafton racecourse. Following 111mm of rainfall over the last 7 days and a forecast for further rainfall, the Ballina track was deemed unsuitable for racing. As a result of this transfer the following race distance amendments apply: R1 - 1300m - now 1425m R2 - 1000m - now 1025m R3 - 1590m - now 1625m R4 - 1000m - now 1025m R5 - 1000m - now 1025m R6 - 1300m - now 1425m R7 - 1250m - now 1200m R8 - 1250m - now 1200m Please note the Grafton track is currently rated a Good 4 with the rail +5.5m 1200m-400m, true reminder, cutaway applies.
