CURRENT AND UPCOMING TRACK CLOSURES (also check forestry operations below for additional closures).
1. Current closure: Macks Creek Loop partly closed. Due to severe storm damage, the full length of Wild Cherry Track remains closed and expected to reopen once the track dries and machinery can operate without causing track damage. This means there is no access to the lower section of Macks Creek to Roberts Road. Use Bulga Park Road from Tarra-Bulga National Park Visitor Centre Carpark to Macks Creek Hall Carpark Rest Area if you wish to hike there and back the same way.
2. Current closure: Tarra Valley Loop partly closed. Tarra Valley Link Track (only applies from the caravan parks to Diaper Track) section is closed pending clearing. To access Diaper Track or Great Forest Walk, either hike that section along Tarra Valley Road or park your vehicle at the Tarra Valley Picnic Area Carpark.
3. Current closure: Park-To-Park Track fully closed. Due to severe storm damage, all sections of Billys Creek from Morwell National Park to Tarra-Bulga National Park including Jumbuck Rest Area are closed. Expected to reopen late 2025.
4. Upcoming closure: Duff Heritage Sawmill will be closed for one day on the 18th of November for maintenance work. This track is part of the Mount Tassie Loop at the west end. When hiking loop in a clockwise direction, exiting Mount Tassie at the western end, walk north along Callignee South Road onto Traralgon Balook Road towards Tarra-Bulga National Park. When you see the western end of Duff Heritage Sawmill track, directly across the road is Drysdale Road extension that goes to Telecom Track, then to Tarra-Bulga National Park.
NOTE: WEST GEOREFERENCED MAP IS TEMPOARILY UNAVAILABLE DUE TO THE PARK-TO-PARK TRACK BEING CLOSED.
HVP PLANTATIONS OPERATIONS (DATES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE)
Macks Creek Loop will be interrupted on a section of Old Yarram-Balook Road near Bird Road and a diversion will be in place to use Bulga Park Road. Harvesting effective from 20th of September to 30th of November.
WOOD FIRES ARE PROHIBITED
Persons sighted or caught lighting a campfire will be reported and may face arson offences.
