Seeing everyone at has me thinking of 2011! When dad won the way of the horse competition 😍 my heart was in my mouth but I knew he had it. Hearing them say Greg Powell was a cool moment I’ll never forget! Dad did a truly amazing job with Cascade who is still in our paddock! Sticking to his principles and putting the horse first not the competition. Cascade is a wonderful horse but is incredibly sensitive and for dad to get him through the competition the way he did is incredible and a testament to his horsemanship. To say I look up to my dad is an understatement he is my hero (for many reasons) and I am super excited for our future with horses.

Greg got a puppy for his birthday on Wednesday! 🤩
Meet Brucie! The kelpie pup!

Brucie met Frank and Annie the winners of muster dogs out at Laggan on Saturday.
Frank was looking for a puppy to do a demonstration with and Brucie was happy to volunteer!

Did you know Greg offers dog training as well as horse training!

We’re looking forward to this new training journey with little Brucie! And he will be happy to meet you all at our clinics soon!

Hey everyone!
We still have some spots available for this clinic as a few people have had to swap to another date!

Greg and I are really looking forward to this clinic at the gunning show ground as it is also a wonderful venue! Easy to access and lots of room! Yards available for horses and a whole campdraft arena to play in as well as the ‘camp’ which we use as a round yard.

This clinic is suitable for all horses and rider levels as well as all disciplines.

Ridden exercises
Horses can also continue work on the ground if not able to be ridden.

Horsemanship clinic -
Greg may touch on round yard work, putting each horse through a routine of “don’t change gait, don’t change direction” and lock on. These are great techniques which can also be transferred to on line ground work. This is also a great opportunity for you to speak to Greg about what is going on for you and your horse and what you may like support with.
Moving on to ground work. Working on softness, suppleness, respect on the ground through different exercises.
These exercises support a safe ground relationship with your horse. Everything we work on the ground will also be improving your horse’s behavior there for giving you a better ride as well.
We will do the bump to the fence exercise. This will help your horse be willing to look for the right answers and help participants know when to ask and when to release showing your horse what you are wanting in a very clear way.
We will also work on safety under saddle. We go through different exercises as a group. If you are not confident to ride or Greg does not feel the horse is ready to ride in the group setting you will be given other ground exercises to work on.
This clinic will help with a wide range of issues you may have with your horse or just to better your relationship with your horse or reintroduce you and your horse back into work.
Every clinic is slightly different from the next so it is hard to touch on everything. If you have a specific thing you would like to work on please let me know and I can speak about that more with you.

Selling my saddle as I have retired my old boy (☹️) too good to be sitting in the shed!

One owner, I bought it only a few years ago has always been well oiled and stored on a rack. Super comfortable saddle for horse and human!

JUNE 22nd and 23rd!
Greg is having a clinic at fairy meadow park near Bungendore!
We are looking forward to being at Debbie’s place again under her lovely covered arena.

There are still a few spots available for this clinic.
Suited to all disciplines and levels. There is a riding component at these clinics however you are able to continue with ground work throughout the entire clinic if that’s more suitable to you and your horse.

Greg will go through ground school exercises on line and at liberty in the round yard. Touching on things such as, Building a strong connection with your horse, don’t change gate don’t change direction, focusing on how our own energy affects our horses. Matched with some breath work! Showing you how the ground work transitions to ridden work. Safety while saddling and under saddle and will take you through ridden exercises as well. This is just to name a few! All clinics are tailored to the participants that attend.

This clinic will help you with a wide range of things from bettering your relationship with your horse right through to trouble shooting problems you may be facing and needing support to work though.
