Everyone please keep your babies safe 🙏🏻
We are saddened to post this reminder, as it is on the back of a small kitten who is very very unwell.
Tea Tree Oil, especially its concentrated forms, is **HIGHLY TOXIC** when used inappropriately. And for dogs and cats, all applications are inappropriate!
Any medically significant dose of tea tree oil is likely to result in severe gastrointestinal upset, contact injury, and neurological disease, including seizures and coma. If the animal survives this, it can cause liver failure. The "medically significant dose" is very small, and achievable easily with any from-concentrate application. Yes, you will sometimes see a *highly* dilute form in some pet shampoos. Just enough for marketing.
It is NOT an effective flea treatment. There are better and safer options. It is NOT an effective mite treatment. There are better and safer options. It is NOT good for your pet's skin. There are better and safer options. It is NOT indicated for wound treatment in pets. There are better and safer options.
Please please please do not use this product on your pets.
If your pet accidentally ingests this product, please IMMEDIATELY attend a veterinary hospital.
If your pet accidently has this product spilled on them, and they are otherwise unaffected yet, please immediately bathe them in pet shampoo or *gentle* dish detergent (it is an oil, it won't "rinse" off). THEN immediately attend a veterinary hospital. If they are already affected, immediately attend a veterinary hospital.
We know that there's a sound reasoning for "natural products", but not all in nature is safe!! Some of the most dangerous things in the world are 110% "natural" and unadulterated. Please please please be careful about what you use with your pets!!
