Have you ever considered a Show Dog?

We have a new litter & although it's very early days yet, we have a very promising little man & after chatting about it, just dont have the capacity to show another male right now so may well have a show quality boy available for sale.

We have several other litters coming too so if you are interested in a potential show dog, let us know - we will do our best to find you a suitable pupper - if not this litter then in a future litter.

Meet Blaze - one of the beautiful little Chihuahua pups from Darrin & Cecilia at Darcels Chihuahuas that I had the absolute pleasure to show last weekend!

Darrin & Cecilia have 4 pet pups available now (but not Blaze!) - very happy to pass on their contact details if you are interested!

These pups are raised with SO MUCH love & attention! Purebred, Pedigreed, Vaccinated, Microchipped, regularly wormed, raised on quality food & absolutely loved beyond measure!

Puppies!!!!

Dave & Doris are seeking Expressions of Interest for one of the 2 Red Girls from this litter of Tohou (Aust Ch Taigenshoutohou of Tai-Yuan (Imp Taiwan) & Tilly (Aust Ch Kortmar Tilly Divine).

These purebred pedigreed puppies are currently just over 5 weeks old & ready to go in 3 weeks.

Dave & Doris are located in Kurrajong, NSW.

Both parents are health checked & copies of parental health checks are provided along eith all the other info in the puppy pack.

The Red boy & other Red girl (there are 3 pups in the litter) are spoken for.

It was another "Midge-Full" weekend!

At 7 months & 1 day, little Miss Midge can add "Aust Ch" to her name - Aust Ch Kortmar Marvelous Mrs Maisel (Pending DogsNSW).

Not the youngest or the quickest but still a very speedy little achievement for Team Kortmar!!

In 3 weekends, Midge has gotten her Aust Championship title along with 10 Minor Puppy in Group Awards & 4 Minor Puppy in Show awards!

We ventured out to the Mildura, Merbein & Sunraysia 6 show cluster over the long weekend & folks, add this show to your calendar! The shows were very well organised & run, the grounds excellent, the caravan park next door, super convenient & so much space to walk the dogs locally. Well done to all!

Huge shout out to all our Judges - first time exhibiting under some & had not been the others for several years at least & all of you awarded Midge & Vinny over the course of the shows!

So - Midge is the 🌟 🌟 🌟 of the weekend but both her & Vinny did incredibly well!

To anyone who knows how challenging Vinny can be in the ring, for the first weekend ever, he let all Judges mouth him instead of me doing it - that is an incredible win as a Handler & I am so proud of him - however, he was over it by Sunday so pictures with the Judges were not a happening thing - its just a Midge photo parade! :-)

If you are free on Friday (Good Friday) we will be at Orchard Hills dog rings for the Specialty Shows - starting from 1pm but we should be there NLT midday. Ring 9 I believe.

Saturday is Shiba Day at Sydney Royal!

On Friday, you can bring out puppers (if properly vaccinated) to meet us & always on a lead & a bowl for water & a chair for yourself to watch the show!

Friday's venue is below - we are going to be pretty busy once the shows start so don't be offended if we don't get to say hello properly until we get a break or at the end!

Would you like to check out our Kennels? Here is a quick video tour!
First video is our kennels which are only used for over night or in inclement weather (too hot or wet).
Second video is our 3 dog yards - Betty & Jess are nowhere to be seen since they are chilling on the front verandah - the Front Yard belongs to them!
Note - we still need to replace the old covers on the gazebos in the yards with shadecloth roofs - it's on the list! :-)

Little Midge (Kortmar Marvelous Mrs Maisel) was Best Baby Puppy in Show!!! Clever little madam!

Mr Vinny (Aust Ch Kortmar Red Red Wine) was Runner up to Best in Group (Grp II) & Best Puppy in Group.

Simon also came along & did the local Rail Trail - looks like we are heading back so I can do it too!

I am so thrilled to be showing these two Shibees.

Hillsborough Autumn Internationals - what a great weekend!

The grounds were fantastic as always, the event incredibly well run & a fantastic judging panel!

Midge & Vinny were such good puppers - I am so proud of both of them.

The star this weekend was Mr Vinny - Aust Ch Kortmar Red Red Wine - picking up Puppy in Group at all 6 shows & being selected for the final 5 in the Group at one of the shows ("making the cut") with fantastic feedback from the Judge - I am a very proud Breeder, Owner & Handler. He also picked up his first A20 Challenge too.

Midge (Kortmar Marvelous Mrs Maisel) worked so well - I am so proud of her, especially when I didn't realise she was in season! In fact, Vinny did extra well considering his close proximity to her in my ignorance!

Thank you Goldmaid Images for all the pics - again, so well organised to get the pics done - hats off to all the folks involved!

Sydney Folks - come on out & meet the Shibees over Easter!

Would you like to meet some of Team Kortmar in person? Vinny, Midge, Rosie, Jack, Jess, Violet & Betty?

Friday 29 March (Good Friday) - Specialty Shows

If so, head on down to 44 Luddenham Road - the Bill Spilstead Complex for Canine Affairs on Good Friday (29 March 24).
Our Specialty Shows commence from 1pm & you can bring your Shibee buddy along for the ride (as long as they are fully vaccinated - dont take chances with young puppers!) - remember to bring them on a lead with bowl & water & likely a chair for yourself!

Saturday 30 March - Shiba Inu day at Sydney Royal

Then - if Friday's Shibee Fix isnt enough, head on out to Sydney Royal on Saturday 30 March 24 to see the Shibees in action - a fantastic entry of 21 Shiba Inu!

Remember that you can't bring your pets along on Saturday - its only the dogs that are entered on the day.

Its a great opportunity to get your Shiba fix, meet us in person if you haven't already & happy to chat all things Shibee!

This could be a great option if you are looking for a 2nd Shiba or even as an intro to the breed - already trained & outside the puppy stage!

** NSW Breeder Homes **
We have one red Shiba boy & two red Shiba girls seeking their forever homes on Breeders Terms - we are happy to chat to prospective homes for each individual but essentially, they stay entire (are not desexed) so we can still breed them.

We will have a written agreement with you to this effect.

The girls will both be bred in 2025 & can then be desexed - Tohou would likely need to stay entire for an additional year (to end 2026).

Tohou is super friendly & would be great with a desexed girl. Tohou may require more patience & training to stop him marking to be a house dog (likely best to use belly band to start).
We wouldn't trust Tohou with a cat!

Tay & Katsumi are both very happy to be dedicated house/couch/bed dogs & Tay will require colourbond fencing or similar - although normally, any "escaping" has been just to get into the house! Both girls have been raised with cats.
Tay & Katsumi would both be fine with a desexed dog of a similar size - its likely more flexible the size of the other dog for Katsumi - but both girls would likely be just as happy being solo house dogs.

All three of them are very people orientated & while Tay & Katsumi have grown up with kids, Tohou is likely just as happy to be around kids. Primary School age & above always best.

For our ease of access for breeding, we would prefer homes in NSW.

As ex-showdogs, all of them are lead & crate trained & used to being bathed & dried.

Canberra Royal - an awesome weekend like normal & so proud of my youngsters, Vinny & Midge! Rosie came along too & yep, still needs to drop some weight to be back to show condition! :-)
