Lots of activity this weekend for many of my fabulous clients! I haven’t had the chance to catch up with everyone yet but here are a few highlights so far…

Congratulations to Alex, already getting over 70%, with only a couple of starts at this level to take out 2nd in the Level 1 Jackpot! Another super combination in the Level 1 was Jordan who took Eski out for his first comp in quite some time for a 5th & 6th. 👏

Also at the SEDC dressage was Sunny who did a stellar job with a 3rd. Fee & Dolly smashed out 2 consistent & solid tests, scoring well over 70% for a 4th & 6th in her jackpot.

On Saturday Alex and Roly had a super day out with a 🥈!

Katherine and Percy did a super job showing at Barastoc, taking out Champion in both the ridden and led.

What an achievement to qualify & ride at the Australian Dressage Championships!

It’s no mean feat keeping performance horses sound in their mind and body, while training & competing all year. So much hard work, dedication and money goes into getting here, so a big shout out to Eve’s owner, Pamela Nissner🌟

Even though there were no ribbons (finished 16th in the Championship) I could not be more proud of Eve, she tries her heart out for me every single ride & just by qualifying and being up against such super combinations, within 4% of being in the placings, is a win in itself 💖

Such an amazing event, a huge thank you to those who put it together - Carlton Performance Horses, Boneo Park plus all of the volunteers, judges, stewards and of course StableGround and the class sponsor Just Ride Equestrian.

I personally couldn’t have done it without all the family & friends who support me. The legends that drove my kids around while Steve has been away so that I could ride - a huge thank you 🙏 It was fabulous to see so many supportive faces cheering us on and those who were supporting from afar, your messages were very much appreciated!

Now to keep climbing that ridiculously large dressage mountain!!

A great weekend at Werribee for the WPVD & VDC dressage.

5th and 11th day one for the 3.1 & 3.2 in massive fields. Day 2 was a 3rd in the 3.3 👏 Eve was tired for the last test of the weekend with a long delay between her scheduled start time and when we got to go down the centre line, so it was a midfield finish.

A weekend with great company, sunshine and a beautiful horse - what more can you ask for! Thanks Pamela for trusting me with your black beauty and to Whittlesea Plenty Valley Dressage Club & the Victorian Dressage Club for running 2 great comps, and of course all the sponsors, judges and volunteers 🙏

I had a great day yesterday, back at Boneo Park, for the Coastal Equestrian Club Dressage Jackpot! No competing for me, just supporting many of my fabulous clients.

Well done to all of you who “had a crack” & shared the laughs with me! Whether you were out there getting a PB & winning ribbons or you rode your sitting trot like a boss, or you got an 8 for movements you’ve been working so hard on, that once seemed impossible… or you made sure you kept a leg either side of your young horse or your energetic OTT without it actually leaving mid test and ending up in the wetlands, I am so hugely proud of you all 💪

Dressage is a tough gig - it’s like climbing a bloody huge mountain - the dedication & grit it takes just to get to the stage of putting on those white breeches is rarely easy. Congratulations to you all for a fabulous job 🥳

Eve and I got to spend the weekend at the always fabulous Boneo Park, testing out our dance moves. A big thanks to Carlton Performance Horses and StableGround for a great competition.

Day 1 was the Elementary 3.1 & 3.2 for a🥈and a 6th. Day 2 was the 3.2 and 3.3. The 3.3 was up first and we decided we’d try adding some extra moves (flying changes are not required in Elementary 🙈) which is of course quite costly! We then went on to finish off the weekend with a🥉 in the 3.2.

Obviously there is always things to work on, but I’m so proud of Eve and how hard she tries for me. Over her last 3 comps she has consistently been in the top 3 & she is still finding more strength and suppleness. Most importantly she is an absolute joy to train and be with. Thank you Pamela Nissner for being a super owner & keeping Eve in such beautiful condition.

⭐️Yarra Valley Dressage⭐️

Our first time to the picturesque Shirley Heights Equestrian Centre for the YVDC EA Dressage was a fabulous day!

Beautiful weather, lovely people and a super horse. Eve as always, without fail, gives 100% & was rewarded with a first and second to be the overall winner of the Elementary. 🏆

Always lots of people to thank in this sport - there is absolutely no doubt that team work makes the dream work!! Thank you Pamela Nissner for trusting me with Eve’s training & all that you do for us. Also a big thanks to Michelle Oliver and the Yarra Valley Dressage Club Inc. team for putting together the comp and of course to my wonderful mum (Mumma Orders) for her never ending support and videoing! Also big 🙏 to Rebecca Haythorpe for believing in me and your fabulous eyes on the ground 🤗

What a super weekend we had at the Southern Cross Event Hire Boneo Park Dressage Championships!

I’m so lucky & very grateful to be trusted by Pamela Nissner with riding her gorgeous mare Langsyne. Today Eve won both Elementary tests after a 5th & 7th yesterday amongst some great combinations.

Of course we would never get to do this without the fabulous sponsors - thank you to Southern Cross Event Hire and the Elementary class sponsor Benleigh Equestrian. Your support of dressage is so appreciated. 🙏

I’ve been hopeless with updates on here (as usual) but I promise I’m still training away!

A shout out to Chelsy for allowing me to base my horse training at her family’s lovely property Cavallo Park Vic in Somerville. I feel very spoiled having an indoor and outdoor arena to work from, with such a great surface as well ❤️

I am also still training and competing the beautiful big black lady - Langsyne (pictured). She’s an absolute joy to work with and is getting so much stronger. I’m really excited about what’s to come for us together & I’m so grateful to Pam for the ride. 🙏

The 3 &4 year old have officially gone out on their winter spells 😮‍💨Thank you to the owners for trusting me to add some dressage buttons after the breaker.

I’ve been meeting some new faces at various club rallies and then there are the riders I regularly coach that have been kicking goals, big and small, either out competing and/or in their training behind the scenes. Thank you all for allowing me to share in your training, I really do have the best job in the world 💖

Don’t forget to get in touch early if you are looking for your horse to come in for training with me - there’s only small gaps in the calendar remaining for the year.

Young horses are hard, in fact sometimes they REALLY test your mettle… and that’s why I’m always so proud of you Sunny.

Ferg is a talented young performance horse and he knows it. You’ve stuck with your training 110%, you’ve been dedicated, patient and kept your big girl pants on, even when I know you really wanted to throw them in a fire & tell me to bu**er off 😂 Thanks for having me along on your journey with your beautiful horses, it is an absolute pleasure to watch you scale that dressage mountain 💖

⭐️ Leader Equine Dressage Spectacular 2023⭐️

A fantastic competition run by Carlton Performance Horses, thanks so much for the great weekend and to all the judges, volunteers and sponsors for supporting the event and bringing it all together.

Eve was sensational all weekend, I’m feeling really positive that our training is heading in the right direction, cracking 70% off one judge & some really positive feedback. We placed in every test, the highlight was a 2nd with only 0.5% between us and the winner. It’s nice to see the 8’s showing up in the areas we’ve been working hard on! She’s feeling stronger every outing 💪🏼

⭐️ New Adventures ⭐️

It’s time to say goodbye to Jindarra Park as the home of Belle Bourke Equestrian Services. It’s been a blast for the past two years, having housed many wonderful horses in training, hosted my regulars for their weekly lessons, not to mention the poles days & nights and the always popular clinics.

I will still be travelling to the usual locations to coach, but if you regularly come to Jindarra for lessons, get in touch and we can work out a venue that suits.

Well Willinga Dressage by the Sea 2023 what can I say! Just Wow! What a venue - it is the most amazing equestrian facility I’ve ever seen. I’m so incredibly lucky to have ticked competing there off my bucket list! It was fabulous to get to know more of Team Vic, enjoy the beautiful beaches & all that Willinga offers.

A huge thank you to Pam for trusting me to ride Eve & to my family for all their support in making it possible for me to gallivant across the country. The biggest thank you to Eve (Langsyne) herself - what a wonderful black beauty you are 💖

Even though competition results are not my focus when I’m coaching, it’s always fabulous to be able to celebrate successes that do come along!

It’s not just the joy of the garland on the day, but it’s also a celebration of having always turned up, even on the really hard days, of being truly committed to your horse, and all the blood, sweat and tears…. Congratulations Sunny, I love that I get to be a small part in you and your horses journey 🥳🧡
